I guess you are confusing what angle I’m coming from. In no way am I ripping bell for standing up to the behemoth that is the nfl and the owners. For contracts, the game is heavily rigged in the owners favor. I actually sort of respect bell for holding to his guns. I just think that it has totally backfired and worked against him for a leveraging stand point for his next contract.
I believe he would of gotten close to top Receiver money for his next contract had he played this year and stayed healthy. I believe now his contract will fall in line with the other contracts the top running backs have signed.
Also, 75% if starting running backs are a dime a dozen. They are a product of their offensive lines and systems they are in. The last time a nfl team won the super bowl where the rb was the focal point of the offense was the Seahawks and before that it was probably the rams. I’d make the arguement that for the Seahawks, Russell Wilson was more important than lynch. Running backs aren’t that key to a nfls team success like they were 15-20 years ago. Most teams view it that way.
