Because many people think Case is a serviceable backup on a heater while Teddy will get them a ring. I think Teddy is the long term answer for the Vikings at QB but Case is playing well enough that it's not easy to just bench him.

i wonder what side some people would be on if teddy was the starting qb of an 8-2 team putting up above average rate stats across the board this season who then got benched for someone whose last action was finishing 28th in any/a two seasons ago

this is not to imply that bridgewater cant become a good qb but nothing supports making a change right now

Teddy is a free agent at the end of the season.

He's probably closer to out of the league than starting again. NFL doesn't like him much and his leg is shot.

I'm a teddy fan too but let's be real here.

Is Teddy a free agent next year? I think due to the injury and PUP list Teddy was on this season the Vikings may get him another year at his $1.354M 2017 salary.

Quote:
Players on the PUP list as of Week One must spend six weeks there. Since the Vikings’ by happens in Week Nine this year, Bridgewater would miss six games if he’s on PUP to start the season.

If the Vikings had picked up the option, tolling couldn’t have happened because Bridgewater wouldn’t have been in the last year of his deal. By not picking up the option, the highlighted sentence of Article 20, Section 2 becomes highly relevant.

On Friday’s PFT Live, Vikings G.M. Rick Spielman was asked whether the contract could toll based on Article 20, Section 2. He provided an evasive answer that nevertheless said everything he needed to say.

“We know the rule very well,” Spielman said. “We’ve talked to the Management Council, we understand everything that’s involved with it, but again it’s something from a contractual standpoint that I’d rather not comment on. But there are specific rules there, and we’re quite aware of what the rules are.”

Here’s what they know: If Bridgewater won’t be able to exit the PUP list by the sixth game of the regular season, he’ll be a Viking in 2018, at the same $1.354 million he’ll earn in 2017.

Yeah, losing Okafor is tough, he was a real solid find in free agency. Saints were down four defensive starters by the end of the game Sunday. It will be very difficult to keep up the level of performance they've shown if that doesn't change. (Especially if Lattimore misses any time; apparently the secondary collapses without him.)

Eh, the Rams have been playing very well too, although against lesser competition. I'm hoping the Saints can live up to the level of performance they've established this season.

Jacksonville has a realistic chance at the 1 seed. Their schedule is pretty soft the rest of the way; if they win out, NE loses @ PIT, and PIT loses @ BAL, they get it.

He was 1 Case Keenum career game against the Skins away from starting against the Rams last week.

He's literally active on game day, the Vikings still consider him the QB of the future, and wheatrich is talking about how he's basically out of the league, lol

I know +3 is the HFA rule but seems like there's a difference between the better home field advantages across the league and the Rams/Chargers LA situation where you have opposing teams coming in and drawing the crowd noise?

Bros,

What happens if in overtime the first team kicks a field goal with 0:00 left?

I assume it's over. I was at the Saints game on Sunday and the ref announced "Each team will get at least one possession unless a touchdown is scored on the opening possession or time runs out," or something like that.

Yes. I think it was the NYG/KC game that the ref gave the UberHochuli explanation that said the same thing but lasted longer than the overtime period.

The browns to make the playoffs odds articles from cbs and 538 are lazy and incorrect as **** today. They don't need any ties at all and there's actually quite a few ways to get there and a lot of their claims are just plain wrong as to what the browns need.

That said, it's silly to argue simply because as the browns absolutely do need to win out, nobody goes 7-9, and the bills do need to beat the dolphins once and lose every other game and a few teams like texans/raiders absolutely can't win 6 games. (the Jets can win 6 it doesn't matter, the article was written by an idiot) some of the other teams it ends up being specific games to beat cle for the tiebreaker instead of "must go 5-11" but that's just these days where you push the article out rather than accuracy since nobody cares.

Trying to get both Browns and 9ers in with no ties I couldn't do, the Dallas Oakland game screws it all up.

Was gonna get on Saints +2.5. Most of the Rams success this year has been against awful comp. Against decent to good teams they've struggled. Jury is still out on how good they are. But Lattimore sounds like he is trending to be out on Sunday.

As much as fans like to think so, crowd noise has little effect on HFA (seattle and some of the domes that cheated with extra noise are prob exception to this). That said, I highly doubt that vegas considers the Rams HFA a full 3 unless they are playing a team from the east coast or something.
