ok next, the same question but HIGHEST Ratio of INT's among active QB's. Need the top 5 (or bottom 5 as it were), but top 10 would also be fun.

This one shouldn't hard. The aids does indeed rise to the top. There is one name in the top 10 that is surprising given his "elite" status.

Dougie P might wind up being a bust, but it's fun to have the most aggressive 4th down coach ITL. 4th & 8 from the Giants' 43, up 7-0. NYT bot had it as a punt, but right on the border.

Quote:
Doug Pederson provided some insight into his decision to go for it on 4th and 8 near the end of the second half. He said he receives a lot of analytical information from upstairs, in the moment. He continued, "When you look at the situation and the win probability" the information seems to support being aggressive.
Quote:
A reporter asked the following question:"I looked up 4th and 8s historically, it seems to be about an 18 percent success rate on that specifically. Are you good with that number? Do you feel that's good?"
Pederson responded: "My number that we went off of, and I don't know where you got your information from, was 33 percent."

"It was something I discussed with the guy that's helping me upstairs with some of the analytics... those conversations are talking actually on 2nd down. When we get into those situations, those areas of the field..."

So why don't punters ever get called for illegal bat when the snap goes over their head and they hit it out of the end zone? Is it cause they are still on offense? Does that make any difference to the rule?

clearly this is the only explanation for his being on that list.

the punishment would be a safety anyway right since they had possession in their own endzone

Yep they would probably end up declining it anyways, but still seems like if it's illegal for the defense to bat the ball out of the other teams end zone, it should also be illegal for the offense to bat the ball out of their own end zone

So highest INT%? Any minimum number of attempts?

McCown
Fitzpatrick
Hoyer
Cutler
Bortles if he has enough minimum attempts, Flacco if he doesn't

Elisha definitely one and Flacco definitely not.

Others sound about right though.

if you're counting backups then Buttfumble is certainly one of them.

man I'd win some bar bets after looking up where Hoyer is versus many other QB's in the league.

Seriously, if he had the attempt #'s, he'd be top 10 all time in lowest %, kaep is 3rd or so best all time (you can guess the other two), so lol @ that stat.

random, stat wise Blake Bortles is a very good comp historically to Jim Harbaugh.

got me to look at stats for comps and this popped out.

QB A
62.0 COMP %
4.6% TD
3.2% INT
7.2 Y/A
6.7 AY/A
11.6 Y/C
233.5 Y/G
NY/A 6.36
ANY/A 5.86
the old QB rating 85.7

QB B
62.0 Comp %
5.0 TD%
3.3 INT%
7.1 Y/A
6.6 AY/A
11.4 Y/C
237.9 Y/G
the old QB rating 86.0
NY/A 6.39
ANY/A 5.93

A is Cutler, B is Favre. They're basically the exact same QB. A sports lesson on how narratives greatly influence our opinions.

QBs are way more protected now than when Favre was playing, many ho-hum QBs are putting up stats that would be considered elite back in the day - now compare both to league avg QB over their respected careers and you'll see where the difference is coming from

Eli Manning is basically Donovan McNabb with a worse INT %

I guess if you want to ignore the fact that Favre played much of his career when it was much more difficult to pass the football and the defense could actually touch the receivers.
