Outside of some media source speculation it has never been about his race or political stances.

He's being accused of wanting starter money by the media, but the media also shouldn't be trusted because they speculate it's about race/political stance?

pretty sure Kaep hasn't even gotten to the point of discussing money with any team, so that's very likely a red herring

I'm sure at this point just to get on the field he'll take around min salary. If it was really about the money you would think he wouldn't have declined the 14 mil. option on his last deal.

I didn't read the article but I remember the reason he did it too. If he wouldn't have declined it then the team was on the hook for the next year if he got hurt. The implication was if he didn't decline his option then he wasn't going to get a chance to continue to play and showcase himself to other teams.

The narrative was that he was taking control of his situation moving forward and was lauded for it by those in the know. From the beginning of his whole protest the most shocking thing to me was his undetermined future contract situation. I don't know if he was naive, or this has played out to intended maximum martyrdom. Even if the latter is true, his nerve might've been tested to result in unknown current true intent at this point.

Supposedly the girl he's with has been something of a impetus for all this and we all know how those things can go.

Joe Montana and Steve Young like to run it as well. Some Of this crap is hilarious, some of it is sad. When did Palmer and rivers get thrown in with running great qbs? Maybe 10 years ago when rivers still had Tomlinson.

This whole thing is about the protest and little about kaeps skill. As a niner fan, I️ hate the guy but he definitely is good enough to backup for most teams and start for a few especially right now with all the injuries.

Carson Wentz likes to run at times too, does that make him a crappy qb?

While it has ebbed and flowed over the last decade, the running quarterbacks have not surplanted the traditional pocket passers, tall, big arm and accurate throwing qbs as the "standard" in the NFL. I think the injuries and big salaries of the qbs are main factors, race and team leadership secondary factors and discipline and inability to adjust to the speed of the game tertiary factors. I also think the "chaos" a running quarterback creates on the field (changing a throwing play to a running play midstream) leads to a lot of injuries and penalties. Such chaos, like in any business, can be non-preferable to constant results through refining processes (plays).

Wow...

Do guys like brett favre, Montana, young or even Rodgers not exist? Rodgers runs the ball a decent amount, does the fact that he’s white make him that much better? How does race and team leadership favor in? I need more details about that.

Running QBs are QBs who are better at running than passing - not any QB who ever runs.

So of course Montana, Rodgers, etc are not "running QBs".
