Spade NFL Playoffs 2017, Divisional Round: LOL FAILCONS, LOL STEALERS, LOL AINTS

Fresh off a 1-3 Wildcard round!

Falcons @ Eagles (+2.5)

Man, Dan Quinn is one stupid man. I'd say he's clicking buttons, but that's an insult to button clickers. Just an absolute moron. The Falcons are top 3 in the league in yards per play, a stat that doesn't account for Matt Ryan being a total loser. But do you really believe in Napoleon Dynamite? I don't.

Titans @ Patriots (-13.5)

I would bet the Patriots -20.5. Tennessee is terrible. You know it, I know it, they know it. They're going to lose by all the points.

Jags @ Steelers (-6.5)

Did you see Blake Bortles? Holy ****. Yes, the Jags defense is good. But last time I checked, its really hard to win scoring zero points. Omar Chilly will use that 30 point loss for motivation; game will be over by halftime.

Saints @ Vikings (-3.5)

Saints in a dome? Yes, please. Do you really believe Case Keenum is good? I don't. And people somehow still don't realize the Saints defense is good.

Enjoy the action!

vikings by a lot

steelers -6.5 over BORT seems so free that it must be some sort of diabolical vegas-based scheme to separate people from their hard won currency. i guess the steelers only win by 6 due to fumbling it 3 times on kickoff returns or some ****

That was three months ago, Bort threw 14 passes for 95 yards and a pick. Fournette went ham that game but hasn't looked close to that good since basically

Re: NFL Playoffs 2017: Divisional Round

Not to be that guy but Jaguars definitely have played better since that game. The past three weeks have been just downright brutal.(somehow they lost the two that meant absolutely nothing and won the one that meant everything...maybe they wake up from their sleep walk now?)

All things said, not Bortles but Roeth is the one that needs to play better from that game. If Roeth plays the way he did in that one it won't be close again.

If Big Rape throws 5 interceptions I don't like their chances. Otherwise, lol bortles.

Titans have to be one of the worst teams in the modern era to make the 2nd round.

People do remember the Texans won the first playoff game last year when they went 9-7 and a -42 PD although Carr got hurt. They were gift wrapped to NE in the 2nd round. Panthers who went 7-8-1 (-35 PD), beat the Cards and lost to the Hawks. A lot of ****ty teams have made it to the 2nd round especially with 3/4 Seeds potentially hosting better 5/6 teams due to winning their division.

The -6 PD, 9-7 Giants won the f'ing SB in 2011.

i cannot imagine a larger franchise-destroying move in context than giving Battle Borts a massive extension. So I hope he goes on a Flacco-level run and rides that defense to the super bowl. **** the Jags

I'm not a Jags fan but if I was and someone told me we would win the superbowl, but we would have to max extend Bort, I'd snap accept.

Of course, there is nothing preventing them from winning it and dumping Bort, so it's not quite the same choice.

Did Quinn ever give an explanation for kicking the PAT?

Re: NFL Playoffs 2017: Divisional Round

I couldn't find it but holy **** at these things I did find when trying to Google it.
Quote:
But Falcons coach Dan Quinn isn’t sure going for two-point conversions all the time is a sound football concept.

Quinn respects the analytics position, but adds of the 2-point decision, “Sometimes, it’s gut.”
On going for it on fourth down
Quote:
“I think we went 17 times, which was third most,” Quinn said. “It was in the top five. So, I want to stay aggressive that way, when it’s the right decision. Sometimes, you can use the analytics. Sometimes, it’s right there (pointing to his stomach).”
And this insanity (what numbers was he looking at?)
Quote:
Trailing in the San Francisco game by four points, Quinn elected to kick a field goal instead of going for a fourth-and-1 late in the game. The 49ers ran out the clock and the Falcons ended up losing 17-16.

“I learned that lesson this year,” Quinn said. “I had all of the numbers and sometimes you’ve got to go away from the numbers and go with your gut. Those are the ones where you say, ‘We’re going for it.’”
Note in this example it was 4th and 1 at the one yard line with less than 3 minutes left

Re: NFL Playoffs 2017: Divisional Round

Quinn makes a lot of dumb mistakes, but overall, he's probably above the average NFL coach mainly because they do go for it on 4th and short a good amount. Also, they really don't "establish" much. And as a Falcon fan, I definitely blame the SB calls on that idiot Shanahan.

the Jags had 5 picks, I think 3 off of tip balls, and 2 of them turned into pick 6s. Fournette broke a long run in garbage time, so basically the Jags offense scored 9 points during the critical part of the game. Also, the Steelers made a mistake of somehow not using Bell much, a mistake I doubt they do again.
