AFC Offensive Player of the Month is obviously the more prestigious award than MVP

Was going to make a joke about it so I looked it up, BB has only 3 of the last 15 NFL CotY awards.

I realize it's a non-sense award and voter fatigue is a thing, but that's some shameful ass voting.

BB has more Wins/Year in the 12 years he didn't win than the coaches who did win in those 12 years.

I mean Manning would lead the actual MVP h2h battle if you take all the joke mvps out. It'd be like 7-5 though.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady became the NFL's all-time winningest quarterback on Sunday following the team's 26-10 triumph over the Los Angeles Rams at Gillette Stadium, breaking a tie with Peyton Manning to notch win No. 201.
GOAT now has the all time wins record.

Quote:
Brady said on this morning's Kirk & Callahan Show on WEEI that he heard from both Manning and Brett Favre (199 wins) after setting the record.
nice guys! showing respect, game respects game, etc

Quote:
"Again, (Peyton) is someone that I've always been in touch with for a long time," Brady said. "I've known him for 16 years. He sent me a very nice note. I have a lot of respect for him and all that he accomplished, too. He's a great guy. We've shared a lot of things in common and I've just always appreciated him as well."
the NFL commissioner must have acknowledged the all time record being broken, right?

Quote:
Brady was asked if commissioner Roger Goodell had reached out to him. The quarterback laughed at the question and said that he had not.

Peyton won MVP in 2008 with 27 TD & 12 INT
Peyton won MVP in 2003 with 29 TD & 10 INT

(he also won with years of 33/16, 49/10, and 55/10)

Yeah those awards are complete jokes because of the people voting on them ie media types. It's exactly the same in college, Saban wins the SEC like every 1.5 years and they tie themselves into knots trying to give the award to someone else every year (Jim McElwain won last year ffs).

I don't know how to improve it but the way they are doing it now is stupid. BB should absolutely have more than 3.

As I'm sure you know, the rules have become a lot more pass-friendly since 2003, so comparing to that isn't all that valuable.

sort of - that does explain 2003 when nobody had eye popping #'s

2008 is pretty lol though. what helped Peyton was the fact that every QB who had a better year than him was on meh teams. Philip Rivers in particular had classic MVP stats even by todays standards but played for an 8-8 team so didn't get the votes.

Peyton was terrible on the road that year, too. It was a classic Sort By Dome Stats for MVP year.

well he led the league in yardage, had 67% completion, and was 2nd in tds to favres 32 so he was pretty clearly the best qb that year.
