Re: NFL Offseason 2018

Initial thoughts:

Very happy with the impending hiring of Patricia. Seems counter intuitive to everything the Lions have done. It will be interesting to see if he retains COOTER

Really surprised Schwartz didn't get more serious looks

Schwartz not in line for New York still? Seemed like a good fit for me

Last I heard, it's going to be Shurmur.

Schwartz seems like a classic great coordinator, terrible HC, but who knows?

If Shurmur can get another chance, maybe he should, too.

Re: NFL Offseason 2018

of course the steelers would tag leveon. He's the best RB in the league in the middle of his prime and he also fits their system perfectly (though you could argue he fits any system). They also have an aging QB playing with the best WR in the league and that WR is also in his prime. They're not just going to let him walk. If he sits out the season then he sits out the season.

Re: NFL Offseason 2018

For those calling for Tomlin's head, you're not alone...

Quote:
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that some of the Steelers’ limited partners plan to lobby owner Art Rooney to fire HC Mike Tomlin and to hire a new coach.

According to Florio, the limited partners have no authority over the management of the team. However, they do speak with Rooney and Florio says that they plan to utilize this to try to convince the team to make a coaching change.

Florio says that the issues with Tomlin include decision-making in key moments of the game, which is something Tomlin and the Steelers have struggled with in recent years. Beyond that, Florio says these partners are also concerned about the team’s lack of discipline with the Facebook live situation involving WR Antonio Brown being a prime example.

Sources have told Florio that there’s a sense that the Steelers are underachieving under Tomlin and there’s plenty of talent in place for them to get back to the Super Bowl.

Looks like Cards are leaning toward Defilippo or Munchak.

Shameless promotion for my 2018 off-season QB prediction game.

The Chargers fired Marty similar idea to the anti Tomlin stuff now. The Chargers haven't come close to that good since despite a good enough QB. Careful what you wish for.

DeFilippo was rumored to be a Seahawks OC target, but I guess he was getting better offers than that. Ergo Schotty, lol

That’s why there’s all the other stuff, like him being a terrible coach, they’re considering.

Rapapport says that the Steelers are going to let Haley walk. This is an acceptable outcome. Wonder if Munchak moves up, since he turned down a 2nd interview with the Cards (I think I have that right)

It's probably going to be their QBC, Randy Fichtner getting promoted. But that Munchak story is weird. Turning down 2nd interview because he wants to stay in Pittsburgh for reasons including family.

Like even if he has the OC job locked up, not sure how you turn down an HC job? I'm sure your family can be perfectly happy if you move them to Phoenix & have an extra few million per year.
