It would be hilarious if their bad management and coaching drove away one fo the best QBs ever.
Rodgers already came out and refuted it. As feel wrath said he's locked for the next four years anyway

Browns have a good thing going. Just need to not botch these picks, though that is asking a lot because lol Browns.
So Packers are awful without Rodgers but the Browns aren't good enough with Rodgers?

Browns would be an immediate contender with Rodgers. Honestly I think they have more talent than people realize.

I just meant that the browns would be in a similar situation as the Pack are today. Yes they would be fringe contenders, but if they stay the course and don't blow their picks they can build something special and contend for years to come. Similar to the Seahawks before they had to pay Russell.

maybe but...the draft is a crapshoot and getting 4/5 years of Rogers and what he could bring would be way more likely to be 'something special' than the guys in this draft and nobody is thinking beyond 4/5 years ahead anyway, because they won't have a job that long

I would SNAP offer 1,4 and TT to the Packers and then SNAP offer A Rog 5-150 (90) if I was the Browns

The Packers have made it to at least the Divisional six of the last eight seasons, and the NFC Championship game three of those. The two times they didn't make the divisional was when Rodgers played less than 10 games. Even if we want to bring it to more recent years they've made the NFC Championship two of the last three years Rodgers was healthy. Hardly fringe

The Browns, even if they did sign Rodgers to some insane extension, would still have a ton of cap space and would be a premium destination for free agents.

I was about to cite coaching, but lol me, Rodgers can carry Fat Mike, of course he can carry whoever the Browns are rolling with now.

Yeah he's good. Very good. Do you think the pack are favorites over the Eagles, Vikings, Rams, as currently constructed? Yes they have a chance to win against everyone of those teams, just because of Arod. He's played basically his whole career in a similar situation.

My point was simply that the browns have a chance to build a roster like those teams if they don't spend all their draft capital on an aging QB, as good as he may be. Trust the process. If they hit on a QB the sky is limit, but they will likely be very good even with a TT level QB so long as they hit on a few of their draft picks in the next few years.

As a bears fan I would love to see him leave GB.

I don't think they're favourites over any of them at the moment but like you said he's played his whole career in a similar situation (well at least the last five or so anyway) and is still making Championship games relatively consistently.

We're arguing about two (albeit high) firsts, it's not all their draft capital. They still have three seconds this year and wouldn't have to give up future firsts. And even with the first pick nobody can agree on who the first QB off the board is so it seems as though it's entirely possible they don't hit

NFL rosters age and turnover fast. A top QB makes any team a contender every year he's healthy. The Vikings window is closing fast and the Eagles could easily be a one off event though Dougie does appear to be a football genius. Rams on paper look amazing this year but injuries could derail the season and they aren't going to be able to pay everyone in 2019 i think.

interesting to probably only me--Baltimore completely changing what they look for in WR's this offseason, going from the Breshad Perriman run down the field in a straight line and can't do much else types to the Crabtree and possibly Dez types.

the browns have had a lot of draft capital for what seems like forever

in the nba there are like 3 new players a year who are any good. you can be a contending nfl team and still add quality players in the draft. unless there are health concerns I insta take rodgers with 1 and 4. they might be a favorite to playoff with him this season.

as said rosters change quick and teams aren't that separated. aside from the patriots with brady being good everything else changes. the eagles/vikings/rams really arent much better than say the saints/falcons/panthers to make you think "wow that is the gold standard of roster construction." people didn't even think theyd all be good last season

This

Browns with Godgers are convincingly better than the Packers with Godgers

That said it’s the Browns so I’m sure they’ll still find a way to cross out his name from the QB jersey of fate and add another within 6 months

Rodgers is absolutely a negative asset to the Packers and should be traded. He single-handedly keeps the team from falling apart, thus keeping corpulent michael employed.

packers did manage to win 3 games with hundley last season so Im not that convinced the browns have noticeably more surrounding talent

The 3 wins were all 1 TD or less wins over the browns, bears and bucs.

If GB was dumb enough to give Godgers away for the #1 & #4 and CLE spent the rest of their picks on defense and maybe a O-lineman Godgers would break mannings 5,477 pass yards in a season record by at least 2k. Godgers has never had the offensive weapons of gordon, landry, corey coleman, britt, njoku & hyde. Plus shedding fatmike for a semi-NFL-caliber coach would be an even bigger jump. CLE would be 80+% to playoff in each of the next 5 years.

If Rodgers went to Cleveland Joe Thomas comes out of retirement for sure.

didnt think it was possible to massively overrate the browns but here we are. lol at kenny britt, corey coleman, and jarvis landry being quality receivers

dude somehow forgot to mention josh gordon, who is confirmed back in business. 2013 league leading 1650 yards with the weeden/campbell/hoyer qb combo despite missing a few games

flash goes for an estimated 4300 yards and 37 TDs per season with godgers

Rodgers is going on 35 and has broken his collarbone 2x since his peak - which was a long time ago in 2011.

When talking 1+4 you have to assume 1 or 4 is a massive face melting trade down - Bills probably.

Browns are for sure a playoff team with Rodgers.

Josh is up there with any wr Godgers has ever had.

Landry is better than any #2 Godgers has ever had.

Coleman and Britt are solid 3/4 WRs behind the above 2 plus njoku.

Godgers had also never had a NFL caliber coach.

I'd easy bet CLE to make the playoffs at even money in each of the next 5 years with Godgers.

kenny britt is a player for the new england patriots bros

they have josh gordon who is quite elite

browns still suck because they have a historically bad coach who is one of the single biggest idiots to ever lead a team
