NFL Offseason 2018 NFL Offseason 2018

I just started my first year in a dynasty league with taxi squads. I have Hunter Henry, my first TE, Julio, my first WR is sitting out OTAs but should play and Terrance Williams who just got a DUI. I drafted in April, it's been a fun few weeks. I also drafted Mason Rudolph before Ben mentioned that he would like to play a bunch more.

Richie Incognito got in a fight at a gym. Cops were called & he was placed on a psychiatric hold. What a weird, but utterly unsurprising in any way, story.

From TMZ Sports...

Quote:
We spoke with the alleged victim who tells us Incognito first threw a tennis ball at him for no reason -- before grabbing a dumbbell and heaving that as well.

The alleged victim says Incognito was rambling about the government and screaming at the man to "get off my f*cking playground."

His playground line is gold - I'm stealing it. Not sure how I'll use it yet, but it will be a staple of my trash talking from here on out.

Roll over? To Trump? Lol, these guys found the most expedient way to hide the uppity, uh, players, and announced it at a time when the chances this will be forgotten by the regular season are maximal. This is them rolling the players, not rolling over to anyone.

Violence against women and brain damage are ok, but the NFL draw the line at free speech.

The players that kneeled had the attention of the world for 2 years and what have they accomplished?

Most, if not all, are millionaires so not having the money to organize change isn't the issue.

They have huge social media followings, they are interviewed after most games and they are famous enough where they can go on most radio/tv shows they want so a platform to spread the message isn't the problem.

We saw the same thing with occupy Wall Street and BLM. You have everyone's attention and you pointed to a perceived problem now you need to do something about it. What are the specific changes you want to see and how do you plan on accomplishing them? It is easy to point on problems. What is hard is coming up with solutions.

It likely isn't over, but so far this feels like a wasted opportunity. Rant over.

1. You are talking about this
2. Police violence against black people is far more prominent now
3. You don't want them to accomplish anything, so **** off

The solution probably starts with getting the party saying there are good guys on both sides out of office because with a Republican majority there is zero hope for positive change on that front. lol at the concept of making enormous social or legal changes with a few million dollars.

As Wookie said the fact that everybody is talking about every single incident of police violence is a massive change.

Serious question......why aren't they protesting in front of police stations(Milwaukee would probably be a good start), or city halls, or marching at state Capitols? Don't those places have a little more to do with the problem, and the solution, than the nfl?

If fast food workers are going to protest low wages, seems doing it at McDonald's or Burger King would have more of an effect than at a bowling alley.

Because millions of people aren't watching the front of police stations or city halls or state Capitols. Visibility is kind of important in getting the message across. The bigger protests with more people do happen in front of those establishments

Are you talking about NFL players protesting in front of those places?

LOL, a lot more exposure on TV though. Also yeah, they aren't going to waste their free time doing anything stupid like that. Maybe they'd pay for people to do that.

I don't know, maybe they're busy and feel one more person in a crowd of several thousand isn't too critical? Or maybe they don't want to overshadow an already existing grassroots protest? Or maybe they are there.

I don't get the point of 'sure you're doing a whole lot, but why not more?'
