I would much rather have McDaniels than Parricia. Who gives a **** if he trained as a rocket scientist - Pats D is awful and it’s been average at best the past few years.

Also lol at that report about Shurmur/Keenum - they can’t control that as the Vikings can tag him

is Luck supposed to be playing in 2018 or nah?

I think your info on the pats d is bad. Their scoring d was 5th this season and first the season before. They do give up yards but they red zone d is great.

Lol at thinking that shurmur keenum requirement is true. Feels like theyre a lock to draft a QB.

I wouldn't expect Keenum to be tagged short of dominating in the playoffs. Vikes have close to 60mm and there is no requirement that they stay in house for their QB.

Who's to say that Shurmur doesn't get hired and then try to bring over his favorite QB like McDaniels did with the Broncos and Matt Cassel?

That does surprise me and I would never have picked than as 5th best scoring D.

Can’t believe their schedule has been tough - anyone have their dvoa figures?

The initial statement was that Shurmur would only become HC if he can bring Case with him. I find that extremely unlikely to be true.

Shurmur wants to be a HC. Why would he limit his career opportunity by insisting on a QB owners may or may not be interested in?

More importantly Shurmur is a top HC candidate on the basis of him taking a QB nobody wanted and making him into a starter. To insist that he needs Keenum completely contradicts his main argument for the job (that he can help QBs go above and beyond their perceived ceiling).

Also the Giants are just about the biggest lock to take a QB in the whole draft. They've got Odell so they have no business picking in the top 5. They pick 2nd in the draft? Ya it's a lock. Having to pay Odell 20mm a year is gonna make a rookie QB salary quite attractive.

It's very possible Shurmur floats Keenums name as a possible QB he likes (or Bradford), in these interviews but that'd make way more sense for teams that don't have a top selection in the draft. If anywhere, I think the real Shurmur-Keenum package deal is in MN. If the Vikes are able to keep Shurmur they may feel better about signing Keenum. If Shurmurs gone, they'll be more likely to let him walk.

Reuben Foster arrested for marijuana possession in Alabama.

Might help explain the diluted urine sample @ the combine.

22nd in weighted DVOA; I don't know exactly the formula for weighting it, but that suggests substantial improvement after a poor early-season performance. They gave up 128 points in their first four games and 168 points in their last twelve.

IIRC though the defense benefits from the best field position in the league.

Yes, I saw that too.

Mainly middling O on their schedule albeit they held the Falcons and one other good team to not many points.

My point still stands tho - I think Patricia benefits from having the GOAT as his boss to a greater degree than Josh and I wouldn’t hire him as HC

I’m also prejudiced against beards like that too tho

They should, but won't unless any of the QB prospects are can't miss types in their eyes.

The Giants love Eli Manning. He has two years left on his contract at a cap number of over 22M/year. Unfortunately, he now sucks. However, the Giants have not forgotten about his two Super Bowl wins and he'll start to begin the 2018 season. The sentimentality will get in the way of making the right decision by drafting Lamar Jackson.

But hey Saquon Barkley is a good alternate.

The Giants will draft a QB at #2. Unless they trade up to #1. That’s a feel wrath guarantee

There's actually been some pretty interesting work done on this phenomenon.

What it comes down to is that the Patriots play very safe when opponents are in their own side of the field & have a terrible defensive rating. Once opponents get to a certain point, I think like their own 40, they consistently have an elite defense every year.

So basically their yards allowed are overstated every year by the good field position stuff, & their points allowed are understated, but probably by not that much.

I think both will be good hires. The reason the other Patriots coaches didn't succeed is that they were never that sharp to begin with. & McDaniels wasn't really ready last time.

How the **** do teams seriously consider total AIDS coaches, with proven long term records of being trrrible, and CHUD can't get another job? Dude is so elite.

He was pretty meh as OC this year for the Colts who would've been a 5-seed if all NFL games ended at the half. I mean lol cancer chilly game adjustments and all but 2nd half play calling for the Colts was horrible.

Now cower in fear.
