I'm super bummed by this news. Hearing Elway not be able to keep it together makes me fear it's more serious than they let on.
I'd think most owners would have to be dead before giving up control like that so being a quite serious case was my first impression too.

RE: Barnwell, Eli Manning isn't a top 20 valuable QB, let alone a top 20 valuable player...like it's not close

Memory lapses were noticed in 2009 and he gave up control of football operations in 2011. Now, he's giving up the CEO title. If he's 5 years in from when symptoms started getting noticed then it's right on the cut line for early onset Alzheimer's. 65 is depressingly young to get Alzheimers. 70 is damn young, too. That's something most people don't get until their 80's.

Damn, just saw a CBS article that said the youngest patient ever diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers was 17.

I'd be pretty shocked if going through all other NFL owners that you couldn't find one who wouldn't trade at least two firsts for Eli Manning. It's probably too brutal in NY media to actually deal him b/c of the flame you're going to get from casualfan.jpg but given how many holes are on that team and the probability you just upgraded the QB position... He should still have rather high trade value. #sortbyrangz

2010- 230 carries, 45 receptions

This is definitely 'feature back' type work.

He's elite don't get me wrong.
yeah his stats are slightly inflated because of the thomas jones and rookie year bull**** (thomas jones stuff was just soooooo inexcusably lol. he was so ****in bad) but it was kind of funny when some CBS talking head wrote "IT'S WORTH NOTING THAT HE ONLY AVERAGED 5.0 YARDS A CARRY THIS YEAR" today. he is really really really good. he isn't a priest holmes beasting behind a super elite offensive line. the chefs offensive line isn't even good nowadays

anyway the contract seems fine in today's day and age. oddly enough running backs do actually grow on trees but charles is a top 3 talent

(btw damnit barnwell, yes carimi went before wilkerson but bears had less than zero need for a DE at the time and badly, badly, badly needed offensive line])

I guess this isn't a strict trade list b/c denver is never trading peyton for watt but perhaps a value list. Play and Contract matter (though obviously in NFL high contract isn't as big of a deal, you suck they just cut you, but having a stud on a rookie deal is amazing value wise) Good chance I forgot about someone and I'm not going to explain why in this order b/c of tl'dr reasons. Might be too low on a few rooks though.

15. Tom Brady
22. Nick Foles
I demand people give you more crap for this opinion because the other day when I said it I was told it was the dumbest thing some one had ever heard

Is it an inside joke here to call Phil Simms Chris Simms cuz the son was so bad at football & the dad is so bad at commentary?

Please tell me that the Jamaal Charles tweet is the real reason he was declared a holdout.

Falcons and Roddy White agree to a 4-year extension through the 2018 season. Terms not immediately available.

He's already 33, so that might get messy towards the end, but I think he could definitely be productive if healthy in the near-term.

I'm glad he'll finish his career in Atlanta.

"I want to be here, no doubt about it," White said in December. "I've spent my whole career here, and I love the organization. I love everyone in it."

I agree that judging by his twitter, he's marginally literate,

but the dude's a warrior who had over 100 straight starts until an injury forced him to sit last year. He looked rusty when he came back but shook it off and was productive towards the end of the year.

He had 6 straight years of 80+ catches and 1100+ yards until last year. He's still a very productive and consistent player.
