It's a bit more complicated than that...but kinda.

There was a $15.5m "option bonus" which you could look at like a signing bonus. As such, he would get $15.5m option bonus plus bases of $12m & $13m the first 2 years, so $40.5m total. & then base salaries of $13.6m, $13.85m & $14.55m.

The new contract is for 2/$30.5m, so yeah, it's exactly $10m less, but those 3 years at reasonable values might make up for it. If you just think he's a temporary fix, then yeah, it's much better.

I think he probably could have got more on the open market, though, so I think it's definitely a win for the Bills. The problem for them, though, is that if he's actually good the next 2 years it will cost them a ton of extra $$$ to keep him.

(obv I'm not saying Cooks = Moss)
Moss/Brady: 0 rangz
Slop/Brady: 5 rangz

Allocation of resources dictates Pats should load up on Oline and D.

The Garcon deal is a 2/$23m/$17m...

With 3 options of $6 million (2019), $8.9 million (2020) and $9.6 million (2021).

In total, the contract is a five-year, $47.5 million contract with $20 million guaranteed and a $12 million signing bonus.

Not really sure what all that means. I guess basically it's a standard contract but people are finally referring to years without guaranteed $$$ as "option" years, which they really are, but they're team options, which should be specified, unless this is something odd.

Oh, it's the other tackle who was drafted way too high just because he's big.

Only things I've seen on Hightower is meeting with Dolphins, & Pats think they're in good talks with him.

Rapoport reporting there is a lot more interest in JC than AP, but that's not surprising.

Malcolm Butler's agent says the Patriots haven't talked to him about an extension & if they say he's asking for a lot of $, they're lying.

Seems like they might just play out the year with him then tag him if he doesn't take a team friendly deal.

He's already 27 and he is a UDFA, strongarming him into taking like a 2/25 or 3/35 is prob the play.

Obviously got a soft spot for Butler and sucks the way this seems to be playing out. Id love if this whole thing ends up with Butler getting paid too.

That was only because offensive genius Mike Martz couldn't figure out how to use him. Literally any other OC in the world and he wouldn't have been.

That pick ended up being part of the brandon marshall trade. Since marshall was later traded, some small part of adrian amos is the end result of that deal.
