Did we ever discuss Bleacher Report's NFL 1000 list? I'm just getting around to it now, but a lot of writers/evaluators I read and respect worked on it.

Not all the way through it but the QB table is positively scorching

So with Adelson pulling out of the Las Vegas deal, what's next for the Raiders. Where do they find that $650m to move there?

I'll float this too... is San Diego a viable plan B? Seems from afar, without having been to them, that SD stadium situation > Oakland stadium situation. Plus there's a fan base there already.

This is a wild guess but I don't see chargers fans becoming raiders fans.

Shanahan lost the gameplan for 30 minutes, he'll fit right in SF.

Well I guess I'll take the consolation that on my franchise team's timeline, with #1 LT, #1 OG, #4 RT teddy doesn't die. (there's a rumor out there one of his OL actually got him)

It makes a lot of sense that one of his own linemen got beat and was pushed or slipped into Teddy because the severity of that injury makes the "no contact" nature of the report hard to believe.

Trent Williams pick was super good. Earliest we get a real update on Teddy is when the 5th yr options come out (March?). If he doesn't get it that'd be a terrible sign. Could sit another entire season and still be just 25 y/o entering the following season, I'm still holding out hope <3

Sounds like Palmer may be retiring. Moving kids out of school and selling home in AZ.

Let the Jimmy G stakes begin! Cleveland paper reporting Browns are hot for him.

edit: guess the Palmer home up for sale report was false.

What are the odds Gronk gets dealt this offseason. Lombardi on the Simmons podcast made it sound very likely. Sounds like Gronk wants a new deal given his football mortality and another team is far more likely to pony up than the Pats.

When healthy he is arguably the most impactful non-QB in the league so I think someone would pay him. Tough to say if a team would giveup a 1st for him or not.

If he plays for the Patriots next year, he should play in only the most important games during regular season and save him for the playoffs. Patriots win 11 games every year. They don't need him until the playoffs

If he is relatively healthy then I think someone would pony up a #1 for him. I don't see NE making him the highest paid TE in the league or anything like that but decent chance 1 of the other 31 teams would.

If his health is up in the air then he probably has no choice but to play out the season and hope he has a 2014-like full health dominant year.

No chance NE pays gronk

Packers trading a 1st for him and letting cook walk seems the most logical

I mean, BB probably just lols at him and gives him the franchise tag at TE over and over til he takes a below market longterm deal

I think Chargers seems the most logical (ripped this off from Simmons mailbag but it did make sense)

Could really use a household name to help them in LA next year. Think SD is closer than it appears, had tons of injuries last year. Good time to gamble with franchise QB only having a few years left as well.

Other teams that made some sense

Ravens (badly in need of a playmaker, Flacco has had almost no help since winning SB)

Jaguars (Make or break year for Bortles, might as well gamble on Gronk and try to be relevant)

Gronk is signed through 2019. Cap hits of $7m/$11m/$12m.

$6m of dead cap if the Pats trade him this year.

6th highest paid TE in the league and Rosenhaus is his agent.

Unlikely he plays that deal out.

What's he going to do? Retire?

He'll either play, or Pats will trade him for a price they like.

I was mostly saying they don't need to franchise him or anything.

Pack don't trade or really sign any top flight FAs outside their own org sans Peppers/White over the last 20 years. Makes too much sense for Fat Mike and company to do. They value picks too much IMO.

I thought Rivers is gone. With that being said, we know how much he loves TEs especially when Gates was in his prime.

I think given the fact he has made some good $, has endorsements and comes from a well off family (think his dad a successful businessman but forget full story) that he has a little more leverage to sit out and force a trade/contract extension than your average player.

So he could force a trade easier than most could.

Nah that seems over with. Think he is fine with playing in LA now. Haven't heard anything about it for awhile and it would be big news if he wasn't.

I thought he had a really good year last year given all the injuries they sustained. Actually think SD could be next years Falcons if they get guys healthy and make a few good offseason moves.

Leverage is only as good as the team you are dealing with is desperate/dumb. Doubt he wins that game of chicken unless Pats get a trade value they can't pass up. He loves playing football too much to sit out multiple years in his prime.

But yeah, the story is that he lives on his endorsements & still has every penny he's made playing football.

I don't think it would come to him sitting out though, I think they would probably get a pretty good offer.

Just was saying it isn't necessarily a situation of the Pats just selling high before he crashes and burns, but it also could be a situation where just forces his way out because he wants to cash in 1 time before his prime is up.

would have to be a really good offer for them to take a $6m cap hit.

Gronk isn't going anywhere
