i agree it makes sense for miami since most of that is their local revenue and not the league's. what I heard was miami did want to play it elsewhere (could have just been the players/coaches though)

This Michael Bennett vs Las Vegas Metro PD showdown is going to be a big story I think.

Nah. The NYPD broke Thabo Sefalosha's leg and had to pay him $4 million, and that wasn't that big a story.

Michael Bennett has a big mouth, not sure if I've ever heard Thabo say anything especially publically. Bennett won't let this story quickly die.

Apparently there's video of a detainment, but there's word he also ran at the time he was told by police to stay put, so you don't know exactly what's going on. There's definitely more to this story, and both Bennett brothers are extremely colorful personalities who pursue media attention.

PS. Funny part is when I read this post back I couldn't help but say it in the voice of Samuel L. Jackson.

Bennett is a huge clown. Doesn't mean he didn't get wronged here, but the point stands.

Mid draft right now.

Who is better handcuff for Lynch pick. Washington or Richard. Got a bunch of $1 picks to plan out.

Quote:
“I think the biggest problem in the NFL is that we have to be able to get the biggest people involved in the issues. Every day a white quarterback throws the ball to a black receiver, but when it comes to Black Lives Matter issues, they won’t step up and be like, ‘There is an issue.’ Could you imagine if Tom Brady was to say what happened to Philando Castile was a tragedy? How would that change America if Aaron Rodgers was to say, ‘Black lives do matter’?”
When this is the reality:

Quote:
Rodgers, for his part, has made statements promoting tolerance (notably criticizing anti-Muslim comments made by a fan during a 2015 game) and freedom of expression. In a recent interview with ESPN The Magazine, Rodgers said that Kaepernick is not on an NFL roster now because of his national anthem protest. And Rodgers said he is supportive of teammates who “have a battle for racial equality,” an area the country needs to “remedy and improve.”
But mostly b/c he's a huge clown on the field.

Of course the fact that he put on 20lbs between the end of the season and the combine should have been a red flag around his desire but he was a lock for #1 I think?
I think Calvin was the top guy. Joe Thomas, Adrian Peterson, Laron Landry also were blue chippers. I was in like 8th grade my team was picking 7th and had Tarvaris Jackson at QB and Jamarcus didnt make my top 7 big board. It wasn't shocking that he went #1 but I don't think it was a no brainer at all. IIRC Jamarcus didn't really overtake Brady Quinn as the top QB until the bowl game.

Dwayne Jarrett was the big faller after he ran a pitiful 40. I was shocked when Vikes passed on him in RD 2 (Sidney Rice ended up much better).
I wanted to trade down for Patrick Willis, sort by 40 time, ez game.

Other random notes: Cardinals at #5 passed on Adrian because Levi Brown was seen as elite RT prospect and they had a Lefty QB in Leinart. Also they had signed Edgerrin James to a big $$$ FA contract the year before (tho he had run for just 3.4 ypc and never would break 4.0 again). Texans took Amobi Okoye who was like 19 years old.

Hey guys, we don't know what's going on; there's definitely more to the story; Now let me imply that Michael Bennett orchestrated the entire incident to drum up media exposure. But yea, we definitely don't know what's going on.

(There is, of course, a certain irony in Al Davis being obsessed with skill-position freaks yet passing on Calvin Johnson, probably the best receiver prospect this century.)
Michael Crabtree was so mad, ironic that he ended up there eventually.

I mean I always knew the Falcons were the ultimate losers but didn't realize just how pathetic a franchise they really are

DID YOU KNOW

The first falcon to break the 1000 yard rushing mark was some guy named Dave Hampton. The Falcons, being the pathetic bag of **** they are held an onfield ceremony immediately after to commemorate it. And being the historical choking ****faces they are Hampton lost 6 yards on the following play to finish the season with 995 yards

So I guess this reason should be done for as of Thursday night EST.

I also get to celebrate by finally having a working laptop and Wi-Fi at my flat.

I didn't phrase things well there, I'll admit it... my point was that, despite the damning but limited video evidence, Bennett is likely (imo) to have done nothing to help himself in that situation. He didn't "orchestrate" anything but I'm not taking his public presentation of the facts, given his personality, at completely face value. Anything else I say is politarding, so I'm done with this topic.

I suppose he could have disguised himself as a white guy before going out in public but other than that I'm not sure what he could have done better.

He was right to be mad, it was a stupid-ass pick and basically everyone but the Raiders had Crabtree > DHB
