Lol nfl and dumbass racist owners and fans
Dolphins and Vikings are close; I don't think he's clearly better than Tannehill or Bradford, but not clearly worse. I'd add Ravens (Flacco has been low-key bad the last few years), Chiefs (at least for one year), and Eagles IWBH (I don't think highly of Wentz). A few other teams where it's close too.

And he is, in fact, pretty good, as any football writer who actually breaks down film and doesn't just regurgitate what NFL teams and the league want him to say will tell you.

RG3 hasn't been signed either, why don't we care about that? I mean we all know why, but it is amusing to watch people try to craft the narrative to explain why it's not racist to ignore conservative RG3 but an unspeakable travesty that Kaep remains unsigned.
"Distraction" is some catch-all bull**** teams use when they can't come up with a substantive reason or don't want to admit the real reason.

The real question is, why are you listening to Fox Sports radio?

It has Dak on it so it must be relatively recent. It is indeed an awful list.

I didn't have my ipod with podcasts (I don't like any podcast apps for the phone and still use a couple shuffles for working out/errands) listened for 45 seconds pulling into a grocery store.

That was in 45 seconds of listening!

Sometimes I'll hate listen for a couple minutes, similar to listening to Hannity or Limbaugh. Just hearing what the mouth-breathers/propagandist are going on about.

Yeah, I didn't think the list was that bad either.

Ryan clearly better than Big Ben right now. Derek Carr was a little low. Those 3 you mentioned were a little high.

R Wilson a little low, not many guys would play as well as he did with that OL last year.

I'm a Giants fan but lol eli at 8. He is an at best average starting QB now. He has lost a lot of arm strength as he ages and it's costing him. He's got at best 3 years left as a starting-caliber QB. Giants should be drafting mid-round QBs, maybe even first if a great one drops in order to prepare for life without him.

The first 2 on that list are correct IMO. The rest is lolbad.

I guess I just don't agree. and I think you're applying an overly negative connotation to the word. LeBron James is unquestionably a "distraction". If he acted how he did without being one of the best players of all time he'd get a lot more heat.

I think you see distraction and you just assume I'm saying I think he needs to shut his mouth and get in line or something. That's not what I'm saying or implying at all. I just am very confident that whatever team he ends up (or would if it never happens) playing for will get the Tebow treatment. Coverage every day, questions every day. It has nothing to do with whether he kneels for the anthem or w/e. It's the constant media coverage based solely on things he has already said and done that causes the distraction, imo.

Anyway I don't wanna derail the thread anymore. I hope he gets signed, obv not rooting against the guy. My stance is merely coming from the POV of, if I was a GM would I be hesitant to sign the guy based on what type of impact he'd have on my team. And I don't think it makes me racist to think his presence on the team could potentially cause some sort of distraction, and, since he's a projected backup, there isn't really upside to justify the potential risk.

It's hard not to laugh imagining Brady (or anyone else) trying to make this throw. Rodgers is pretty clearly the best QB in the NFL. It's funny to me how we pride ourselves as being such advanced thinkers around here yet, when it comes down to it, it's still largely sort by team success when evaluating QB's.

My thinking is different-- notably, that the distraction talk is an excuse, as I said. NFL players are professionals; they can deal with the media. Kaepernick's 49ers teammates consistently referred to him as the hardest-working guy in the building and said he wasn't a distraction at all. "Distraction" is just an excuse. Maybe you can make some argument that the press attention was bad for the 49ers, but I tend to think their season had more to do with the overall lack of talent, and being a "distraction" certainly didn't negatively impact Kaepernick's own performance.

Again, I do not believe he should be projected as a backup. He clearly improves about ten teams' fortunes at QB, today.

This whole "crowdsourcing the decision" thing the Ravens are doing now is some pathetic cowardice to try to alleviate themselves of responsibility for the decision. I think they're trying to get the biggest possible ****-storm stirred up so they can justify not signing him (even though he is definitely better than Flacco).

good time to remind everyone that the ravens didn't find having a murdering linebacker too distracting, nor were they deeply troubled and concerned by their starting rb knocking his gf unconscious in an elevator

I agree with nath, but I also think you guys are really overrating Kap. "Clearly improves 10 teams fortunes today" when installed as a starter is wat.

He's an average NFL QB at best who would be trying to learn a new system. You have a good handful of teams with new QBs (Watson, Wentz, Trubinsky, etc.) who need playing time to develop.

He definitely should be looking to fill a backup role.
