Worth mentioning that Sweezy was another guy who started at DL and they moved to OL.
I guess that convinced Cable that he could do that for the entire OL. Beware beginner's luck.

Because you can't guarantee the opportunity to become a HC again and because the 49ers' situation is actually a good gamble for a first-time coach.
Think about it: If the team does poorly, they're such a dysfunctional mess to begin with that it probably won't reflect badly on you. If the team does well, you look like a god damn genius.
