You must not be familiar with the NFL schedule. It's pretty simple.
1) You play all the teams in your division twice (6 games)
2) You play all the teams in your conference that finished the same place as you once (3 games)--there are a list of tie breakers for play but essentially this is it
3) You play another division in the other conference in a rotating fashion so that you play every other division in a conference once every 4 years (4 games)
4) You play another division in your conference in the same manner as 3 but you don't count the game from #2 twice (3 games)
And that's your NFL schedule every year.
So on the last day of the schedule (week 17) you can basically figure out your schedule but not the order and the days (Thurs/Sun/Mon). Just look at the teams you played 4 seasons ago before it to determine which divisions outside your own you will be playing that year.
Now the home/away splits for 2-4 are determined in some way although I know it's not always fair and I can remember games especially with category 2 where 1 teams hosts a few years in a row.
