I have no idea who Donnie Henderson is, but the fact that a blow-up at a SCRIMMAGE from 12 years ago is what Tom is using to make personnel decisions is...well...not great.

Seems bad to have a guy in charge who holds grudges for multiple years when you are trying to put the best team together. good luck jags

Lol Doug Marrone.

Doesn't he know that on December 10, 2006 when Danny Crossman was a special teams coach with the Panthers & Coughlin was coaching the Giants, Crossman did not properly instruct punter Jason Baker to kick directionally, and as a result, Chad Morton was unleashed for fair to reasonable returns? Plus Crossman failed to arrive 7 hours and 5 minutes before kick off on that same day.

That may be true the Spanos's will be willing to sell, after they realize they're going to flounder in LA, but I wouldn't characterize it as fattening up on their price when they'll be 2nd choice to the Rams in a stadium they don't own and after losing an entire fanbase and support of a neighboring city. If they struggle to fill out 27K Carson they'll be in more of a downward spiral than they already are which will be hurting their price.

And on another note, do they really think leaving SD isn't going to overflow into their new situation? It isn't like they relocated across the country and are getting a welcome party, there's zero anticipation or excitement for them moving up there, and there is still going to be a lot of angst against them in the general area. You'd have to be completely LA clueless to climb aboard the franchise as a fan.

I mean they're really just banking on people that want to see an NFL game and fans of the visiting team, which will pretty much look exactly like this season at old Qualcomm. Their home field advantage will be worse than it was in SD, when it was bad in SD... it will never even come close to as much support as when Spanos and the Chargers organization actually had San Diego behind them during their hay-day.

They'd be better off killing their brand name and re-inventing their entire franchise to the LA Red Carpets or whatever. Spanos is way too cheap to re-brand everything though, so he already ruled that out.

People love to jump on brand new teams from their inception.

Probably. It's not like the NFL Network to be wrong.

Dodgerbolts hiring Anthony Lynn probably.

I agree totally that they should have re-branded.

Lynn gets hired by the LA Chargers.

So, Shandyman, McDonalds and Amatriciana all left on the shelf with only one role left

Wonder how much of that is the disadvantage of not being able to commit til after the Super Bowl.

Though it wouldn't surprise me (but would impress me) if Irsay pulls a gangster move and grabs one of the OCs in early Feb and fires Chucky

mckay got a NFL job @ 22 returning the favor of granddad hired the elder gruden and reports are he wants wade to run def and he'll probably get wade's son too who's on the wash defensive staff.

The nepotism football league never changes.

They're keeping the logo because lots of charger fans in SD won't change teams if they keep the logo.

Chargers only need to fill 30k seats the next 2 years. No point in rebranding now.

There's gotta be a cheaper midway point, right? Maybe Costa Mesa?
