EJ Gaines was a good pick and a nice sleeper on a forgotten guy.

Chris Jones and Vernon Butler are both good (and both guys I thought should have gone ahead of A'Shawn Robinson).

I like Sterling Shepard but I wish wesrwood's receiver group had more speed. He's got elite route-running especially from Cooper and Shepard but nobody to torch defenses over the top.

Are you a Pats fan? 8 of your 21 players play for New England, and Chandler Jones and Aqib Talib used to.

I have one more D wildcard spot but since we've now picked all of our defensive starters I will write a little bit about how I see the D side fitting together.

Anyone looking at our team can see where the money was spent. Out top 6 highest salaries are in the D front seven and that doesn't even include Ansah who might be our best pass rusher.

Like a lot of teams we expect to play more snaps in nickel than in base. Our nickel package features two of the smartest tackling and coverage machines in the league with Donta Hightower and LaVonte David. David is also the best LB in the league at covering halfbacks coming out of the backfield.

Up front we have one man wrecking crew Ndamukong Suh mentoring a massive defensive tackle prospect who dominated at his previous level. They will be flanked by a rotation of 3 elite edge rushers, none of whom are one dimensional pass rushers. We will be able to trample the run on the way to the quarterback. In obvious passing situations we may roll out a 4 aces dime look with Suh, Ansah, Bennett, and McPhee playing in front of David, but I see most time being spent in nickel

When we do roll out in a "base" 4-3 package we will line it up a lot like the Peter Carrol Seahawks. Our base 7 man front will be similar to the nickel but all 3 edge rushers will be on the field with McPhee standing up to play the LEO backer. Kenny Clark will 2 gap ala Red Bryant and the rest of the front seven can attack through one gap.

Suh and Bennett will wreck any weak spots on opposing lines while McPhee and Ansah will battle the offensive tackles, winning more often than they lose. David and Hightower will be all over any underneath routes when opposing QBs try to audible to slants and curls or dump the ball out to avoid sacks.

Our corners are not household names yet, but Cockrell and Breaux are both guys who've already shown they can hold their own without a lot of help from the pass rush. Apple is a top 10 talent with excellent measurables who will hopefully develop into a true #1 over the next couple years pushing either Cockrell or Breaux to #3.

Coleman is a guy who finally got to play on a good defense last year and pulled in 7 picks. We were looking for a guy at free safety who can hang back in center field and capitalize on mistakes forced by our d line, and Coleman has showed he can be that guy.

I feel this would be one of the top defenses in the league with all of those guys, but there's even more. Our X factor is Kam Chancellor who will be wreaking havoc all over the field delivering punishment to any WR who makes a play on our corners or any RB that somehow makes it by David and Hightower. Anyone who meets Kam will get up slow and be a little more hesitant on the next play. We also have high hopes that Kam can block a kick and turn a game on special teams at some point in the season.

Our defense will be able to win a lot of the games on it's own. Good luck to any team that skimped on offensive line investment or who is rolling out a year 1 or year 2 quarterback against this squad.

bonus points for the writeup

Could you give us a lineup by position? I'd like to look at it a little more clearly.

He has some unique skills and won't really have to necessarily see the field a lot but he's going to play in the slot in 4 wide packages and line up in the backfield a little. Obviously a threat in trick plays and will need to be accounted for

Think he's gonna play a lot of slot and in 3wr sets too. Plus he's very raw so he's only gonna get better

Guess it is on me

LB Koa Misi $3,120,500

mandatory pff quote

Quote:
Year after year, Koa Misi plays between 400 and 800 snaps and grades out favorably, even though he doesn’t always post high tackle numbers. In 2015, Misi posted career-highs in snaps and stops. His 85.7 run-defense grade was 13th best among linebackers. He was able to get pressure on over 20 percent of his pass rushes, which was fourth-best for 4-3 outside linebackers with at least 50 pass rushes.

The combination of his consistency and decent play means that Misi should be getting paid like a top-20 linebacker, while in reality he’s only getting paid like a top-30 linebacker.
Sounds solid at this point

QB Rape $23,950,000
LT Jake Matthews $4,480,773
LG Cody Whitehair $768,103
C Corey Linsley $646,250
RG Joshua Garnett $1,691,693
RB Le'Veon Bell $1,311,100
RB Devonta Freeman $721,106
WR Julio Jones $15,900,000
WR Donte Moncrief $750,880
WR Jordan Matthews $1,349,801
TE Rob Gronkowski $6,618,750

DE Cameron Jordan $5,812,000
DT Geno Atkins $9,600,000
DT Brandon Williams $1,799,750
DE Shaq Lawson $1,868,904
DE Noah Spence $1,097,509
OLB Shaq Thompson $2,001,983
OLB Koa Misi $3,120,500
CB Jason Verrett $2,151,546
CB E.J. Gaines $626,918
FS Eric Weddle $3,750,000

FYI I'm taking atleast one facemelter and when we look at the draft you guys are gonna tell me I'm the goat lol. Just trying to decide on my last position I wanna take.

Am I allowed to cut someone and replace him? And do I still have to pay their cap hit?

I know we talked about this, but I'm not sure what we decided. I think you can cut people, but I dunno where we are on the cap thing

If disko is around he can pick. I might post mine tonight too because I feel it extremely unlikely anyone in between will take him.

Can we make a decision on the cap thing in the next round or two? Need to make decisions based around that
