I'm trying to get at something. Of the running QB's who cannot make it as a classic drop back passer, they just look like a joke in the playoffs. Double threat QB's great in post-season include Steve Young, Russell Wilson, Josh ... nobody would say they weren't a classic pocket passer too. Even Lamar just looks like a joke in the post-season, all of his results I predicted, btw. Maybe I'm cherry picking disastrous post-season running QB's. Cam, Vick, Cunningham ... hmm, don't know.

Had to bail early 2nd qtr when the guy who started Friday replacing the flooring, subfloor, and a joist under our water heater showed back up to finish the part of the job he left unfinished a few hours earlier. At least I got to watch most of it in silence while he worked, but I did miss a bunch.

My frustrations had almost subsided when he put the water heater back in place and snapped off a coupling gushing cold water over the flooring he had just replaced. TBF most of it went into the new drain pan and down the drain hole he had just cut in the flooring. No appropriate spare plumbing parts, so here we are without water until the damn Home Depot opens in the morning so we can get some brand new PEX or whatever that crap is called.

Deer camp is a Southern term for the tradition of several friends, most of whom like to hunt deer, have a cabin (owned by one or more of them) out in the wilderness. The primary function of the camp house (some are quite nice!) is to get away from their wives and families for several weekends and some weekdays to drink whiskey, play poker and craps, and shoot guns. Most wives don't even know exactly where their husband's camp house is.

I figured the experience must be common to many areas, but wasn't sure about the name.

Some years ago I did stumble upon the ultimate retaliation by wives and girlfriends in Wendover NV of all places. For those not familiar with Wendover, its local market is Salt Lake City. On opening weekend of deer season the casinos in Wendover have what they call Deer Widows' Weekend. Wild, wild, wild!

Good time to hit up Wendover if such a thing actually exists.

I can attest to it 15 or so years ago. That was my last trip to Wendover--for reasons totally unrelated. It was a great time to be playing blackjack due to all the madness and distractions. I have no idea if it is still a regular happening.

Worst wild card week in a while

I wasn’t doubting that this deer camp ladies week weekend exist. I was trying to say that I’m not sure a trip to Wendover is ever a good idea unless your in SLC. I’ve considered going though as they had these junkets for like $300 that included airfare and hotel and maybe a few meals. $5 single deck 3/2 BJ, Peppermill independent book, some low limit poker and full pay VP. I think I could entertain myself for a few days.

Wendover used to be a great destination for blackjack--may still be, but less so than in the past. For a while I was flying into SLC every couple of months--commercial even. (Don't know if the junkets are still running, but they flew into Wendover rather than SLC.) What wasn't to love about Wendover then? Great games, tolerant staff, easy comps, etc. I loved the place and knew a bunch of others who did too.

Alas, times change. For me the timing was sudden and unexpected. And happened on DWWE.

I don't get the hook on the Bengals game, but don't have a side on it. Don't like the set up for Niners coming off that last one, I was going against Pack but ended up taking them money line here. Taking Rams to stop the Bucs/Brady auto 31 points in playoff games last two years. KC/Buff is epic matchup just pure hedging it because of big Bills futures bets.
