This shows a pretty insane bias in favor of the offensive side of the ball.

How in the **** can the Chiefs be "elite" when they have quite possibly the worst defense in the entire NFL?

No issue with that. Had a brief listen to PMT yesterday and Big Cat said the Saints are the ultimate trick or treat team this year. They're going to have headscratcher duds, and blow out wins.

I would definitely say I have a bias towards offense, your assessment is fair. I also probably have too much weight towards farther back history vs. current predictive performance. The Chiefs are back to back Superbowl appearances, best QB/offense in the league, and yes a miserable defense. I dunno, they're just slight "underdogs" being -2.5 at home vs. the Bills. Seems reasonable to me, I would bet heavily they are no worse than -3 at home vs. any team ranked below them on my list.

Thanks man! I like it doing it, if nothing else to make some conversation and help me figure out my own leans for bets and force me to stick to my guns.

surprising stat:
the chargers have played washington, dallas, kc, and las vegas; and in all four games they've held their opponent to their lowest scoring total of this young season.
they'll have to hold the browns to <14 this weekend to keep the streak alive, not gunna bet on that happening.

Their D was solid last yr, they've had a tough schedule, it's been 4 games. I'd wait a bit before we label their D a dumpster fire.

Also, their D is gonna have to be pretty bad considering their offense is the best in the league and far more sustainable. Few fumbles by CEH/Tyreek don't happen and they're probably undefeated with 1 of the toughest schedules in the league so far.

People who say things like this should be forced to watch the Lions. Full games. With commercials and no bathroom breaks.

4Chiefs (2-2)

Same top 4. Originally I had the Packers and Cardinals in this tier, but then I realized the Browns and Ravens would not be far behind and I can't have a god damn ELIte tier with 8 teams in it. Plus I am not a flavour of the week ranker. I can look past the Rams loss a bit, still think they are great, no team is unbeatable, and they'd still be >3 point favs at home if they played the Cards again. Bills crushing bad teams and that is one my favourite armchair QB anecdotes about good teams. BUF@KC in primetime is going to be fire.

The Hall of Very Good

5Packers (3-1)
6Cardinals (4-0) (up 3)
7Browns (3-1)
8Ravens (3-1)
9Chargers (3-1) (up 2)
10Niners (2-2) (down 4)
11Cowboys (3-1) (up 1)

Wasn't sure if I should give the Niners the full 5 spot drop but I think the Cowboys might be favoured on a neutral field. Having said that: free Trey Lance, Jimmy G is so terrible, this is not a Jets or Jags, it's a good situation for a rookie QB. Cards are great but have a tough stretch coming and should fall back to earth a bit, I do love the firepower. I want to rank the Chargers higher but I don't see bumping any of the top 8 down right now.

The Bad Good Teams

12Titans (2-2) (down 2)
13Seahawks (2-2) (up 1)
14Broncos (3-1) (down 1)
15Panthers (3-1) (up 3)
16Saints (2-2) (down 1)

Titans really shouldn't have lost, had zero weapons outside of Henry so I cut them some slack. Broncos might be dropping a tier soon if Bridgewater is out. On the other hand I love the Panthers as just a good middling team, rebirth of Darnold. Weekly reminder that I have no idea what the identity of this Saints team is, but it is probably that they're not that good.

The Good Bad Teams

17Raiders (3-1)
18Steelers (1-3) (down 2)
19Vikings (1-3)
20Pats (1-3)
21Bengals (3-1)
22Football Team (2-2)
23Colts (1-3) (up 2)
24Eagles (1-3)

These teams all kind of stink in their own way yet each of them has some redeeming qualities. I like WFT the most, followed by the Vikes. Steelers are ugly but get a hobbled Denver team next week at home, which is a nice rebound spot.

The Bad Bad Teams

25Bears (2-2) (up 1)
26Dolphins (1-3) (down 3)
27Falcons (1-3)
28Texans (1-3)
29Lions (0-4)
30Giants (1-3)
31Jaguars (0-4)
32Jets (1-3)

In before *insert team from this tier* too low. I could be reasoned with to drop the Texans down, but that's about it. Mainly I just didn't want to have a bunch of "up down up down" nonsense when the Jets, Jags and Giants get obliterated next week and New York football is back to being not back.

Bills are in first place in the ESPN power rankings probably the first time ever. Can’t wait to see how they do they do against the Chiefs. Hopefully this will be week two of the Bills revenge tour where they give beatdowns to teams that knocked them out of the playoffs in the previous two seasons.

I like Bills this week.

Not a MySpace True Lock but certainly a McMuffin Value Play!

I think Chiefs get em again, stylistically I just see the Bills as a worse version of the Chiefs. Smart, analytical team that values passing offense/defense over running but ultimately w/ inferior talent. Has that much really changed since they gave it to them 2x last year? Bills have beaten awful teams 3 weeks straight and Chiefs have had 1 of the hardest schedules in the league.

This Meyer situation is pretty weird to me. What am I missing? He had a female customer come up to him in his own restaurant and do a 39 second sexy dance type thing and he played along.

Who is offended? Surely the players aren’t?
Is it because he didn’t fly back with his team?
Is it because he went out to dinner after a loss?

I don’t get it if it’s just the dance thing at all.

Maybe they all hate him already and this is the excuse?

It's funny more than anything. He's a real Christian value kind of guy but constantly gets caught out doing dumb ****. Someone wrote that the players laughed after he had to trudge in and apologise, I don't think anyone's offended except some pearl-clutchers.

Missing the team flight after going 0-4 to get dirty danced on by some college girl isn't a great look any way you slice it

Bills have 2 shutouts in 4 weeks, while the chiefs' defense is an absolute sh*tshow. If the Chargerzz can win at Arrowhead(the Browns should've won at Arrowhead also), so can Buffalo

I think if the refs call penalties fairly against the Chiefs D like they did in the SB and not like they did in the AFC championship Bills likely win.

vs Brissett and Mills....They've had the easiest schedule in the league and I don't think it is even close.

Chargers forced 4 turnovers

Of course the Bills can win, but I like KC -2.5 and think it is too low. Don't think as much has changed since last year as you apparently do.

Broncos: NYG, Jags, NYJ, Baltimore has to be a contender.

Not sure what to think. Bridgewater had been playing well, but got injured vs Baltimore; so their 'show us' game was compromised.

Denver seems like they're either an illusion, or will be a surprise team, depending a lot on how Bridgewater performs.

I think we know what the Broncos are, a solid and well coached team, strong defense, game managers on offense. Should be a solid bet over the bottom 1/3 of the league.

Struggle to see them mounting a large/explosive comeback in any game with Teddy or Lock at the helm.

They'll fight for one of the last 2 playoff spots with Tennessee, Las Vegas, and maybe the Bengals?

man, i'm having a hard time seeing how the Broncos are fighting for a playoff spot in the AFCW without having played a divisional game yet and also having @browns and @cobwoys also on their schedule. they very well could prove me wrong but my hunch is they're gunna get butchered.

Pretty sure the simple answer is they are not.

I was just talking top 7 in the AFC.

Chiefs/Chargers, Titans, Browns/Ravens, Bills.

Chiefs/Chargers, Browns/Ravens, Raiders, Bengals, Broncos for the last three spots.

Maybe somehow Colts or Pats right the ship but I don't think so.

Colts do it.

4 games vs HOU/JAX to come plus a few other relatively soft games.

Absolutely going to be around the mark

When he left @ halftime, Bridgewater was 7/16, and had thrown for 65 total yards & 1 TD. The team had 128 yards of total offense, and were trailing 17-7. I doubt his absence cost them the victory.

But either way, I think we'll know soon enough. He's back at practice, so even if he doesn't play this week v/ Pgh, he should be back in time to face the Raiders and Browns, week #6-7. If they win one or both, maybe they can contend. I personally don't think they will.
