Thing is, Palmer didn't really "light up" in the first Packers game. Only 278 yards. It was a defensive victory. AZ's drives in the 2nd half were a 28 yard TD drive, 2 punts, and a fumble. The defensive forced a bunch of turnovers that made it a blowout. But they could hardly get any pressure on Rodgers in the playoff game.

Didn't realize how bad Norman has looked as of late. Was watching the Seattle tape and was confused at how often he was getting beat by Lockett and how rarely Wilson was even looking at Lockett. I guess Norman was on the Asomugha train of "might as well not throw there as everyone else blows" but without the actual shutdown ability.

So I went to see to see the stats and Norman is giving up a 67% catch rate as of late while Floyd and Fitz are amazing catchers(Fitz is at 75% catch rate) while Floyd can get downfield and separation with a respectable 58% catch rate.

Panthers secondary couldn't cover 3 step routes against an inferior QB and Pass catchers so that makes me really nervous today, especially with how average to bad Norman looks at the moment(Chanticleer pride though). Gonna watch a little more on Norman before the Giant game where this roasting began and see what he was doing different that Rivera probably messed up with him.

Game is all on StarLo and Short it seems. Pressure on Palmer up the middle won't matter if its only a 3 step drop as Palmer has to be one of the ugliest QBs under pressure.

Also CAM is going to put up 30+ again so it's not like we need to shut down Palmer completely

By pressuring slow ass Carson Palmer and giving him enough cheese to choke on.

Well the good news is Jared Allen's hillbilly ass won't be on the field at all but the bad news is our DEs suck.

Star and short tho

So 30 minutes of tape and 7 games tells me Panthers for some unknown reason have favored zone coverages over the past 1.5 months of the season as opposed to the single high man to man they played through the first ~13 games of the year.

Seems like a good idea.

isn't that when they had to replace tillman and benwikere with players off the street

Even if you feel obligated to play zone its fairly clear Norman gives up way too much in zone as opposed when he is in off man or up man. Norman doesn't seem to press well so it's better for him to be on a guy that is off the ball rather than on the LoS and he was beat in the most recent games either trying to press and not getting a good jam or lost in a zone.

So...to go further if that want to play zone they can smoke coverage or roll it away from Norman and play zone on one side of the field and play man with Norman, especially against Trips or a single wide set. You'll be forced to move Norman around but it seems like that is the easiest answer to that problem.

I could do a still image of it but I am really hungover right now and doing so would take too much brain power. Maybe before the game if someone is confused.
