I can't believe that you've read some of the stupid **** posted on this forum and then can't even imagine that anyone thinks this way.

FWIW, I agree w/ you, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who are certain that they are right that John > Jim or vice versa.

Saints super easy free money. Front 7 is great and Brees ain't even mad. Will still light up the scoreboard through the air. 9ers just don't have an offense that will be able to keep this close. imo.

Not a chance NO puts up 38 on the 49ers in SF.

Not that it's a bad idea to assume an offense led by Alex Smith won't score much, but the Saints defense sucks. The 49ers can dink/dunk/run on them and grind the clock and keep Brees off the field in a way the Lions could not.

saints 37.6 PPG home, 27.3 PPG away

unless the defense collapses or the 9ers constantly turn the ball over, i'd say under 27 from the saints is a lock

Saints 23, 49ers 13 is my first guess. It feels wrong somehow, though.

Even though I voted SF in the poll I don't actually think they're going to win.

24-17 NO

I don't think SF is going to get too many opportunities with the ball.

lol @ "super weak". Falcons twice, Giants, Texans, Lions, Packers, Bears... not to mention the Panthers had a pretty good offense this year too. Sometimes I think you just make **** up to denigrate whatever I say.

SF +5.5, NO +3 @ Lambeau imo.

Go 9ers. Probably root for Saints anyways though, because **** SF in the ear

touche', although as I listed, the Saints have played many effective offenses this season.

Just heard Philip Rivers speak about 3 sentences about football on NFL Network and I've determined he's already 100x better than Deion Sanders.

What a strange game this will be.

Mediocre offense + great defense versus historically good offense + horrific defense.

Commentators will drum up the "defense wins championships" vs. Green Bay/NE- terrible defenses/great teams meme incessantly.

Sagarin Ratings

NFL 2011 through games of 2012 January 1 Sunday - Week #17 (end of regular season)
HOME ADVANTAGE= 2.41
RANK TEAM RATING W L T SCHEDL(RANK) VS top 10 VS top 16 ELO_CHESS (RANK) PURE POINTS (RANK)
1 Green Bay Packers 31.40 15 1 0 19.33 ( 25 ) 5 0 0 8 0 0 34.61 ( 1 ) 29.36 ( 1 )
2 New Orleans Saints 28.43 13 3 0 18.36 ( 31 ) 5 1 0 7 1 0 28.06 ( 2 ) 29.08 ( 2 )
3 San Francisco 49ers 28.14 13 3 0 18.59 ( 30 ) 3 1 0 5 1 0 27.91 ( 3 ) 28.50 ( 3 )

Sagarin Predictive is 0.50820 against a spread this year.

I think the Pi-Rate Ratings, 0.57438 against a spread during regular season, will have N.O. covering the -3.5 spread.
