Point remains, the NFC West owns the Saints lately.

Define "lately". They face raped the defending NFC champ Cardinals (lol) two years ago in this round.

While we're at it, quantify "the relevance of the results of three games, two of which were played last season, to Saturday's game".

public money has been on the over in this game (47.5) early this morning, a report from the mirage sportsroom came out that a well known winner bet 110k on the UNDER.

Wow, just wow. If you really think the game is going under then put your 110K on SF +3.5

I was reading an old SI that I had in my bag this morning, and the feature article was on the NYG-SF game.

SF had one sack against the Giants. One! Against the mighty NYG o-line.

If they don't get more pressure on Brees than that I don't see how they win.

ANS has been pretty low on the 49ers all year, though I'm not sure why exactly.

Aren't they pretty big on the "turnovers are fluky" stat? If so, they probably see the 49ers +28 and consider them lucksacks. ANS actually gives the Saints a higher probability than the Packers to win this weekend. That seems nuts.

If turnovers are fluky according to them than it makes sense the Saints have a higher probability than GB... GB forced just as many turnovers as the Niners.

Before the wild card round ANS actually gave New Orleans a higher chance of making the NFC CG than San Francisco, which should say a lot about how they view SF.

I'm from NO, but live in SF now. I'm seeing a lot of niners gear around here that looks sparkling new. Also, lots of my friends, who have never expressed any rooting interest in the niners, are suddenly spamming facebook with niners posts. This has the potential to be worse bandwagonry than the SF Giants' run 2 seasons ago.

If you were in NO when they finally became a good team I assume the scene was worse with bandwagon jumpers. I would guess 85% of Saints fans have no idea there was football prior to 2009

lol, right

I found numbers going back to 2000 at least 97% stadium capacity every year except 2005, when they were doing every game in Baton Rouge or San Antonio or whatever. Obviously winning begets bandwagoning everywhere, but 2009 is a laughable benchmark considering they've been pretty damn good since Brees got here. Beyond the 2000s the numbers vary widely by year, but New Orleans isn't that big or rich of a city so if they sucked for a few years I wouldn't be surprised if people on the fringe stopped going.

I'm not pissed about it, just sayin.

Also, lol at the arguments using info from after the ball was snapped to justify not calling it. He was offsides when the ball was snapped, it should have been called. I'm not whining; I don't really care if the Saints win.

Noze might be a bad example because he's a transplant, but Saints fans were pretty fanatical even through the ****ing Aaron Brooks years.

San Fran is a transplant haven, so it makes sense that there will be lots of bandwagoners. The people that are born and raised here seem legit though.

i have never met anyone born and raised in the city

anyway, most teams' fans are pretty fanatical. NFL is awesome like that. probably the only exceptions would be the jaguars, chargers, bucs and maybe the rams

Eh, I moved to the city in January 2006 for college and admittedly didn't start caring about pro sports until a bit after that. You'll notice I picked up the Hornets around the same time, only to basically go downhill ever since. Never really gave a **** about the Lions or the Pistons especially despite them crushing for a solid majority of the 2000s.
