Well at least there it "used to be" ten teams and they just kept the name. Plus for a while there it was a game of chicken with the Big Twelve. Actually, I guess maybe it still is? Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, Cotton(?)...and...is there something I'm forgetting?

Asked and answered, thanks. Was not registering the Peach.

Ya know people won’t read and start posting in the wrong thread. Separate thread for playoff games
Hmm...you make a good point. It's a lot easier to write about games that are about to happen, though perhaps I should just look at this as a chance to take my new ADD medicine for a spin. They *could* make things easier on me by just not letting coaches change jobs until after the bowls. Also probably better bowls.

The peach used to be behind the Citrus, Outback and Gator but it got moved up with the CFP

It has sold out for about 25 straight years and they've had a bunch of great games while also having a nice time slot on the evening of Dec 31 (pre playoff days). The relative low order it had in the bowl priority slotting was eclipsed long ago by the prestige it had with the fans. Getting to go out and party in Atlanta after the game on New Year's Eve was a nice bonus.

Orlando has the theme parks but who gets excited about being in Tampa or Jacksonville for New Year's besides folks freezing up in the midwest?

Regarding Big Ten vs Big12 I think the Big12 has the naming rights registered for everything 8-16 except 10.

Big 12 should just ditch all the pretense and call it the Horns Up Conference

Fitting, because the once distinct major bowls are now as memorable as the endless flavors of Gatorade.

Oklahoma bandwagon filling up!

+1175 on bookmaker
+1100 on bovada
+1000 on BoL

Trying to sell out of more of my futures, will sell at +1200, slide into my DMs

Wasn't it OU +1400 at the open? I thought I saw that somewhere. How does that number move while the point spread remains stagnant?

Money could be coming in disproportionately on the ML than the spread

5Dimes still has Oklahoma at +1450.

It is still the money making opportunity of a lifetime.

huh, I suppose that makes sense, I always assumed they moved somewhat in tandem but I learned something new

I saw it at +1300 then it went up to +1400 then down to +1100 or so

The conditional OU/ND line was initially ND -3 which made no sense, since OU is better than ND right now, and if they meet then that means OU just beat Alabama. I hammered OU, it's now OU -1.5

Clemson's Lawrence getting suspended improves OU's odds if they beat Bama as well

Point spreads are usually designed to be accurate (i.e. they don't care much about balancing $ on both sides, unless it's something like the super bowl)

Futures are more market based, tend to have very high juice (i.e. the odds of all the teams on any one given site to title halfway through the season usually add up to like 1.25 or 1.3), and tend to move due to betting rather than being manually adjusted as things happen, and tend to have very low limits, so the sites don't care about them as much

I, for one, am bewildered at how straight ESPN is playing "The guy who tested positive is SHOCKED, SHOCKED I say, that he tested positive. He has no idea where it could have come from!"

Like, fellas, I don't know about you but even though I may have fallen off the turnip truck, I didn't *just* fall off the turnip truck.

That's pretty good, but not quite as good as the time a Tour de France rider floated the idea that, in a crash, perhaps someone else's blood got knocked into his system and THAT was how he tested positive for "someone else's blood". Recall he was pretty shocked by the failed test as well.
