Simeon has been consistently one of the top 5 teams in Illinois since I was in high school.

That was a long time ago.

Yeah I wouldn't think that would sniff one of their best teams but I could be wrong.

quick google, I'd assume the Jabari Parker and Kendrick Nunn teams would have been better. Some complete studs have went there, D Rose, A Davis, Isiah Thomas(the HoFer)

I think PJ tried to foul him but he had to do it quick and not risk it being on a half-court shot. He took a swipe right and missed.

Isaiah Thomas (from IU) went to St. Joseph's, which at the time was about as good as it anyone outside CPS.

Same school Benji Wilson played for, I remembered watching that 30 for 30. Wilson got shot and killed before his senior season. He was a top 5ish recruit I believe. Him and Nick Anderson played together.

Hami being 4 is crazy given how much he was crushed this year. If he can even come close to his performance the remaining of the tourney UK is going to be tough.

Going to be another matchup like the first 3 Isaac Haas vs Mo Wagner matchups all over again.

Tyler Davis wont be able to guard Wagner out to the perimeter (and he cant guard any of the other 4 starters either so he will be stuck on Wagner )and Robert Williams prob wont even get a shot at checking Wagner since Davis would get torched by whichever 4 is on the floor for Michigan.

Meanwhile, Wagner shouldnt be able to guard Davis down low.

Mo's shotchart says everything about how impossible a cover he is for most college bigs considering hes 6'11 and mobile.

I feel like TA&M is going to go zone early and often and see if it finds success. Duncan Robinson has been a good post defender this year for his size but the limits of that will get tested with a likely matchup against Robert Williams.

Moe has been in a funk the first two games of the tournament. He canned a couple big threes early in the 2h against Houston, but apart from that we haven't been able to see his play in the PnR or off the dribble at all. Hoping to see more opportunities for that against TA&M

I haven't watched them play a ton, but Texas A&M's offense seems brutal in the half court. TJ Starks putting up a 87.6 ORtg on 29% usage... That's some Corey Sanders type numbers right there.

I think theyll have to go zone to have any chance at all of slowing Michigan down in this game. Teams with big centers who cant guard out to the perimeter and/or teams who play two bigs like Texas AnM are typically the teams Belein has shredded this year on the offensive side of the ball because the attention Mo Wagner draws opens everything up(Iowa 3x, Michigan State 2x, Purdue 3x).

The more I think about it, dont think the matchup is good at all for the Aggies.

I think we are going to get annihilated against Nova... they have seasoned guards who won't be shook by the press, they shoot a ton of threes (we give up lots of open looks) and make them at a good rate which is hard for us to keep up with. Their TO% on offense is 11th in the country and steals conceded rate is 8th, plus their FT% is 15th and we foul a ton :/

Their DR% is good but not great, which means we might be able to rely on our only real offense which is second chance points after we jack up bricks

Hopefully Konate is able to play most of the game, he'll be our weapon on both ends against them

Our (a&m) best shot is that we have success in zone. This game worries me a lot, but so has every other game in the tourney so what do I know. I’m flying out to LA tomorrow so should be fun.

Our half court offense is beyond awful and our coach is the legit worst in the country at making any sort of adjustments. So I don’t have high hopes if we can’t just pound it down low like we did against unc.

You just gotta pray Michigan misses 3s just like UNC did. You’ll own them inside but need to deal with Michigan’s barrage of 3s. Not sure if Unc could have won if they shot normally but the game would have been a lot closer.

On paper UNC was a bad matchup for AM as well. Make or miss league.

I'm drafting vs a friend, from this point on to win the tournament. I have the first pick, simple snake. I know the odds, but I'm curious about opinions here. Rooting interests, evil blue teams, etc aside, but going just by who you think has the best chance to win:

1) Who would you take 1st, Villanova or Duke?

2) Which 2 teams would you want to take out of these 4: Gonzaga, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan?

Nova. Duke has to play KU in Nebraska. I’m not sure Purdue or TT, matches up that well with nova.

I would probably take UK and Michigan.

Seems like Purdue is just a slightly worse Nova.

I'd be tempted to take Duke by think it's wrong

1) Villanova.
2) Any 2 of the 3 combinations that don't have Michigan.

Just use the pinnacle lines

Nova, Duke, Gonzaga, Kentucky/Kansas, Michigan

Kentucky, Kansas and Michigan have had inflated odds all tournament relative to Kenpom. Kentucky makes sense, as there is a mountain of evidence for believing that they are currently better than their kenpom rating (Highly rated preseason teams that have mediocre seasons over perform in the NCAAT, their team is very young and got better as the season progressed, etc.)

Michigan is probably overvalued on futures lines because people love Michigan. Not clear to me why Kansas has been so overvalued all tournament (if anything they should be slightly worse given Azubuike's injury), and I am extremely short them.

So, I'd say Nova, Duke, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, Purdue, WV, ATM, Texas Tech, Nevada, Clemson, K-State, Chicago, Cuse
