Had to look it up but 2009 comparison is darn accurate, though it had more close early round games. Also, only 2 of the S16 games that year ended less than double digit margins and only two games reasonably close after that. Yeesh.

Another byproduct of the boring results so far is every amateur bracket filler in every office across the country will be talking about how ‘their’ 1/2/3 seed won and how they just knew a team they’ve never watched or happened to hear about once from an ESPN ‘expert’ would be there. At least when there are upsets that’s mitigated a bit.

yep. current leader in our pool is a guys wife who asked "what do the little numbers mean" and he said "usually the lower one is the better team" so she just rolled with that and has 15/16 left

So people who pick high seeds are a joke? Like I don’t get the rationale here. If you pick long shots, sometimes you’ll look like a genius but most years you’re gonna look dumb. I don’t think people who went chalk are smart but seems like picking the better team most of the time is a winning formula.

The only clear ranks that were over seeded were due to injury/suspensions like KSU or KU and they of course lost. But most people thought KU sucked. Wisconsin despite being a 5 was a slight dog on my books to a 12 seed. Favorites won. There have been other years like this, specifically 2009. Years like this happen. I guess once in a while the seeders get things mostly right.

Now we have arguably 14 of the best teams left and it should be a ****show of great teams. Maybe we will get 2009 where 1 team rolls everyone but I don’t see a giant gap between the top 8ish teams. It’s almost roshambo for teams like duke, unc, uva, Michigan, msu, Purdue.

There’s still at least one public perfect bracket after 48 games out there. Just need to hit 13 more games.

I spent a semester there the season after Phi Slamma Jamma...it is hard to energize the student body of a commuter school, but they had what looked like a tailgate watch party going on Saturday when I was going past the campus.
