This guy. Really not hard. Pick no upsets in Vegas other than NW.

hot take: the foul didn't actually matter. even if you give them the free throws it's just saying you trust your offense more than defense. prob 50/50. now parlaying that into no play and a 30 foot jack is what's bad

I'm sure lots of people have perfect brackets (I do), but most, if not all favorites have won so far.

I don't want to do math but, I think I like fouling up 1 with 15 seconds left especially if it's 1 and 1 and a bad free throw shooter (neither was the case there). Instead of giving the other team the last possession where a score wins, you give them a free throw or 2 and you get a possession. The latter seems easily better to me.

If they don't foul, let's guess NW is around 40% to win

You foul, dude shoots like 80% or something... was it 1 and 1? if so:

20% he misses first shot and you win probably 90% (8 seconds left up 1 have the ball usually)
16% he makes then misses, so you win 40% of the time in regulation, 50% of the time in OT, so you win 70%
64% of the time he makes both, so you're in the same spot NW was in so you win 40% of the time.

So you foul and you win 55% of the time, you play defense you win 60% of the time. It's not like that foul cost them that much win equity, hilarious though it was

Assuming you're trying to win your pool and not make picks for fun and bragging rights (which is a totally legit reason to make picks), then there is zero chance you picked anybody wrong other than Vandy.

All of the other picks were automatic

i think it's close even if the guy is good. 70% to hit both compared to roughly 50% to make a shot to win straight up, but in exchange you get 15 seconds to retake and you make up the difference if you can score not even half the time
