I do wonder if Virginia will change their coaching style or playing philosophy at all. If I were to say one thing about them it's that they allow their players very little freedom or creativity during the run of play. It showed in the Syracuse E8 game most of all where they had trouble breaking the press when the break didn't go the scripted way, and they also just didn't know how to run an odd man fast break, which requires skills that aren't necessarily rehearsed.

I think the defensive scheme is still great and I don't think the slow pace is as detrimental as a lot of people/pundits will say. There isn't something fundamentally different about a tournament game that makes UVA's system stop working when it worked phenomenally the rest of the year. But I think there's a lot of room for improvement on the offensive end where they can allow their players to make creative use of their talents.
