The thing you're missing is there is only one team with any possibility of ever claiming the NY market (ever since NYU retired from competition due to the repeated, nigh constant, point shaving). College football means nothing there, although you can add the channels as 'premium' subscriptions. But the conference with that school *may* be able to leverage themselves into the base packages and the sick sick sick sick lots of money that would entail. From a potential money standpoint, it would be insane to not add Rutgers even though they suck, always have, most likely always will, no one likes them, and no one ever will.
