Hi Goldenbears. I always respect for your posts and opinions. I really don't think or expect Frost to be an expert on all things football. But I would be disappointed to find out that a person in his position, and with his compensation, is not smart enough to surround himself with people that will make decisions that he feels can better be made by others (and in particular, those who are looking at analytics). But, we see it everywhere, and especially in politics, this is not happening.

I like watching football but my knowledge of optimum plays like going for 2 or what to do when up by X with y minutes left in game... well that is limited.

In baseball I could have a reasonable debate on lineup construction, bunting, base-stealing, and useful and useless metrics. In football I cant..

Cliffs. If the analytics say go for it on that Nebraska play, then I would defer to that over Frost's (or anyone's) gut instincts.

Not sure the Big12 refs have a rule book.

He made a mind numbingly stupid call. You don't need a 35 million dollar coaching contract to see that.

Now is a good time to recall ND's last game with NW. Not only did BK not look at a 2PC chart [went for 2 when up 11] he called a running play when taking 3 knees would > 95% win, resulting in a justice-fumble. Apparently we need to double his pay to make those decisions correct.

It's a fine move if your goal was to keep the score close for some sort of moral victory or to lock in beating the spread, but terrible if you're really trying to win. We here tend to look purely from a GTO perspective but, seriously, "going for it on 4th down" and failing is the sort of thing sports reporters and rich boosters will keep a bee up their ass about for years. Frost has had a weird habit this year of referring to some of their weaker opponents as "a game we can win" and taking the points against tOSU when a sneak is ~80%-90% to work is totally consistent with that.

Lol committee. Gotta keep 2-loss Florida at 11 even though they just got blown out, because reasons. Mizzou top 15 next week, because they just won @ 11. Florida.

It really is a shame that sometimes "highest % to win" and "highest % to not upset people and therefore keep my job" doesn't always align
