If he can win at Minnesota, I think they'll be ok with him.

Last year's national title game convinced Mack that the spread has its limits, such as 3rd and 2.

No, I'm serious. I don't like forward passes. That's why as a G Tech fan, I actually would prefer my current coach to Leach. Mother****er definitely wins games though. Took a team that was 82-67 under Dykes, went 84-43 with them, and now the first year that he leaves, they need to win their bowl game to avoid having their worst season in a decade despite having a very solid coach in Tuberville. Texas Tech just IS NOT set up to be a football power as their tradition is dwarfed by that of Texas/Texas A&M, but Leach made them a perennial winner anyway.

Anyone know anything about Kevin Wilson (OC from Oklahoma)? Rumors are that he is the leader for the Indiana job.

I would think with his total compensation package and with the new facilities its a step up. Question is it is a great career move? I don't know how much he is making now, but getting a 4 year contract worth 6-7 mil will be pretty nice. Expectations aren't high, anywhere from 2-4 Big Ten wins a year is great and would probably still keep him in line for bigger jobs down the road.

Heard from a friend of someone on inside at Miami that Tuberville is at the top of their list now.

good hire imo. Has won at every level he's coached at and is a small enough name that he's not gonna demand a huge salary, which is good since they paid big buyouts on two recent coaches i believe.

I'm trying to think of what odds I would accept if someone gave them to me for WVU getting Leach or Malzahn. It looks unlikely that Miami is interested, and now Minnesota's hired their guy. There is a reasonable chance that Stew steps down or is fired after the season, especially since we didn't get a BCS bowl, and a slim chance beyond that that we somehow land Leach or Gus.

I am pretty sure I would snapcall 5% if someone offered, but I think I would probably let it ride if they offered 1-2%.

Unfortunately for Leach I think the fact that he didn't get along with TT's administration and then sued them is going to keep him from getting a job at a major college.

Exactly, which is why I am dreaming of him at WV. WV's got a good enough team, fan support, tradition and history that it should be 'acceptable' for him, even if it's not up to the UCLA/Miami dream job type he wants. He coached in ***** Lubbock, so living in Morgantown can't be a huge deterrent. Plus, the team has a ton of small, fast, athletic WRs that he is sure to love.

For their part, WV is in a position where they could definitely take Leach's baggage. They have a disaster of a HC and not a ton of options. They're never going to land and keep a huge name like Saban or Urban Meyer, but they might be able to keep Leach for awhile.

Seems like it is at least possible.

I think Leach would definitely take the WV job, but I honestly don't think they'd hire him. I hope I'm wrong, as Leach at WV would be pretty awesome and they need a better coach.

Looks like Malzahn is off the table for Texas, and so is Holgerson. All of the current rumblings from insiders and such point to Bryan Harsin from Boise being the main target for OC. The OL, DL, and OC all officially retired or resigned today. Expected to have the same news but reassignment for the S&C and WR's coaches anyday now.

6 years without a bcs bid in a weak big east. getting blown out by Miami and West Virginia and losing every big game they had this year. Off the field problems. Terrible attendance.

not all that surprising.
