Bama offfense was better after he left. Not necessarily an indictment of him since the team was better though.

Fairly unproven though and the Saban break up raises some questions.

Just to clarify, there's zero chance of Mahlzahn going to UF as OC, right? Like, zero.

I would love to see Vandy get a great coach and try to raise that program up.

Vandy deal is supposed to be done tonight with an announcement tomorrow, between Malzahn and Franklin. Vandy made the final offer to Malzahn at 2.4 mil with another mil in bonuses yesterday. I can't see him taking the job but a lot of people around him seem to think he is. Between Texas and Florida, Malzahn should be able to get one of those schools to pay him a mil a year to be OC.

I led Vanderbilt to 3-4 national titles, and recruited among other giants FS Freeman McIntyre, four-year starter, three-time Thorpe Award winner, serious Heisman candidate both his junior and senior seasons, and the greatest player I've ever coached. I smile every time I think of his dreadlocked mane streaming out behind him, returning another pick-six.

Nah. He wont leave AU unless it's for a HC job. AU has already stated they will pony up with the $$$ to keep other schools from outbidding them for his OC services. The only way he leaves is for a HC position.

Petrino just signed an extension with an 18 million dollar buyout. Guess we won't have to hear about him changing job for at least 7 years.

Typing a column on Muschamp hire.

Anyone know where I can find stats and rankings on teams for full seasons (ie: a team's rank defensively for a certain year)?

I know it's probably financially motivated, but Malzahn is sooooooo leaving Vandy for a better job, lol

James Franklin (Maryland OC) was the other frontrunner for the gig. So, no, not odd at all that the Post would have an interest.

I would be surprised if Malzahn stays in vandy for longer than 2 years. But anyway, will definitely miss him. Good luck Gus!

Who the **** is Chizik going to get to replace him??

Will Malzahn coach in the NC game?

As an Oregon fan this is by far my biggest question. I wonder if this will impact the line on the game at all?

Thank you Al Golden for turning the Temple football program into something more than a punch line. You deserve every dollar the U gives you.

Now, the question everyone is asking...who will TU land to replace Golden?

Cowher? Gruden? Kiffin?

I'm sure Gruden/Cowher's agents will begin leaking information any moment.

Malzahn couldn't find a better deal than this? Even Pitt would have a better chance of success than Vandy.
