I'd agree with that and hopefully the virus will help UW get JTT and some other WA/west coast stars.

It is really unfortunate that CP faded out right when the two biggest classes in the recent history of WA high school football were upcoming.
In an alternate universe UW puts together another 10 or 11 win season last year, CP is still here, and JTT and Egbuka or Franklin are committed.
It is very unfortunate, but it is what it is. Maybe if he could have gotten the offense (his specialty) working better last year (and in previous years), they would have won more games. Instead, he let seniority trump talent at WR, didn't stay with what was working, and called stupid wildcat and trick plays at the most critical times. They played lethargically against Stanford and Colorado, and the offense couldn't move the ball against bad defenses like Colorado, Oregon St., and the first half @ Arizona.
I'm not very optimistic about Egbuka, but am about JTT & Franklin, although they each may be a coin flip at this point. Franklin plays with Huard in 7v7, which can't hurt UW's chances. JTT has to weigh going to national champ contender that has churned out the Bosa Bros., among other DL... vs. UW that is his home state, where his massive contingent of friends & family can easily watch him play, the whole virus thing, and UW's long history with polynesians and Pacific islanders (incl. a couple DL this class and tons on the roster). It's also worth noting that while offensive players have reason to doubt UW's offensive struggles and a new OC (OTOH Huard will be there next year), but the defensive staff remains in place and it's the defense that was the bright spot and anchor under CP (as it was under DJ).

Jimmy Lake can’t afford for this season to be canceled. He needs to show what his supposedly more aggressive program will look like and regain momentum or UW will fade again.
I tend to think you're right, that they need a fall season to be played, but then again it's Jimmy's rookie season as coach and the QB situation is very questionable this year, so I'm not sure what would be best.
