Who’s your team bro - I’m going to have a great time watching mine beat Notre Dame and Tennessee and Florida next year - but yeah if we don’t win the National Title you’ll get last laugh lol.

Could he even shake more money out of the A's by doing this? Does have Boras as his agent...

Also he already *has* the baseball signing bonus money. If he gets an NFL situation he likes and goes that way then he'd have to give the bonus back, but that would mean he's gotten other money.

I don't really follow the NFL but didn't Bake Mayfield do pretty well this year? I ask because Murray took over from him and was better.
He can probably leverage some more money but he isn't going #1 overall and I doubt he goes 1st RD. What is he, 5'8 185lbs? I would have guessed was slated for the mid rounds at best. I wouldn't say Murray was better, they had the same stats.

Only when you don’t count the two top-4 teams they will be playing at the end of the year the names and dates of which are tbd

For some teams it's newsworthy when they lose 5 star QBs ... for other teams, when they lose a walk on punter

Yeah I suppose Kliff Kingsbury never actually thought he'd actually have the first pick in the draft when he said that. I mean, who would have, lol? Kind of like me saying if Brie Larson was...well, you can see where I'm going with this.

I also don't know which skills exactly translate to what NFL teams want. Other than his height, are there any big concerns about his play?

Dan Enos to Miami as OC.

So who's going to run the offense in Tuscaloosa?

The last team from the state of Georgia to win a national championship.

Also, Mark Dantonio press conference at 5:45. Probably going to announce that he's keeping his entire offensive staff and giving them big raises.
yeah he committed to go with Locksley to Maryland and then Michigan came calling... btw Jalen Hurts visiting Maryland this weekend.

So Bryce Love tore his ACL the last game of the year.

I really questioned why he returned last year and it's pretty much gone as tragically as possible for the guy. Just take the money and go, if graduating is that important to you, come back and graduate.

Hopefully Devin White doesnt make the same mistake

Maryland would be an interesting landing spot. Obv likely to be familiar with what Locksley is going to run, very winnable QB job (sorry Piggy, sorry Hill) and some decent talent on offense. Then again, Maryland is still probably at best going to be 4th or 5th in the B1G East.

in most instances i would agree with you, but having a Stanford degree and being plugged in to that network has to be more +EV long term when compared to getting your brain scrambled in the NFL. if he was smart with his time on the farm his degree is the most valuable thing he has (and i'm not just strictly talking about the money...this is a money + quality of life decision).

Except the Stanford network DGAF about football and everyone in Silicon Valley or on Wall Street knows a football player's Stanford degree isn't a real Stanford degree.

I would argue a USC degree (as much as I hate them) is more valuable for a football player from California.

inferring from that post you're saying the public perception is USCw has more stringent admission standards for their football players than Stanford? (or are you saying the 'fame' of a USCw football player is worth more than a Stanford player?)

either way, GTFO

i know several Stanford football players through the years and there's no slack in their admission standards or degrees. it's not about getting admitted to Stanford on a FB scholarship, it's about getting admitted to Stanford.

What is USCw? If I type usc.edu I get USC web site. If I type uscw.edu I get nothing.

No, I'm not saying that at all I have no idea why you would jump to those conclusions.

USC take care of their own. Pretty obvious that is what I meant when I used USC as a counterexample immediately after stating Stanford alumni network doesn't care about football.

Also the fakeness of the degree doesn't have so much to do with the admissions standards as it does the coursework and load once you're there and busy playing football not school.

Walking Senior worked with a Stanford football player-engineer and spoke very highly of him. OF course said player declined to participate in the NFL draft and went right into aerospace. That even low rd NFL money was refusable helps to date the story.
