Doing something to help your brother? OK. Sounds like some sort of newspaper-comics family to me.

He will probably guide Oregon to the final 4 next year and then sit out the playoffs to protect his draft position.

it's Her-bert, not A-bear

Pa-trick Her-bert is a 6-5 225 4* TE ranked as the #11 TE in the country by 247. the brothers grew up in Eugene a few miles from Autzen Stadium and have been lifelong UO fans. Justin's decision to return for his senior year hasn't really surprised folks in Eugene that know the family. there have been a few other o-linemen that could have declared as mid to late round picks that chose to return.

my hunch is there has been absolutely no consideration about being #1 overall compared to the #1 QB. as i said in a previous post i think it's a bad business decision, but really not surprising.

this is exactly the reputation they have in Eugene. think the wholesomeness of Mariota except he's a hometown boy.

Didn't Herbert have a season ending injury in 2017? Maybe it wasn't as serious as I'm remembering

he broke a collarbone against Cal in the 5th game of the 2017 season (on a TD run) and missed the next 5 games.

he came back for the last 2 games of the season and played in the bowl game.

having seen pretty much every snap of Herbert's career, here's my amateur take:

deadly if you give him a clean pocket
dirty up the pocket and the defense has the advantage
he has the speed and athleticism to run if the pocket breaks down, but isn't as good as Mariota passing on the run. above average when running to his right, below average when running to his left.
can quickly go through his reads when he as to. if you watch his tape it may look like he's locking on to option1 but that's most likely #13 Dillon Mitchell. i'm willing to bet Oregon receivers have dropped as many balls over the past two years as any team in the country (except for Mitchell). Mitchell may just end up going in later rounds of his draft.

the PFF analysis is pretty accurate

Life comes at you fast

Really hoped Hardman would have stayed, I think he's gonna be a fantastic punt returner at the next level

Well yeah but the whole point was they could keep each other fresh and not wear down too much tread on the tires. Both of them together are more than twice as effective as each of their respective stat lines.

But it's okay, if the last 40 years of UGA history is any indication, there's going to be someone new running the ball who's going to be awesome

I think Hardman will be a complete bust in the NFL.

Florida returns every starter at the skill positions, but loses 4/5 OLine and 3/4 DLine. Pretty much mandatory in the SEC to have an OLine so I am v concerned
