As an ACC guy are we allowed to buy into UVA yet? Their offense actually seems a bit better

Nah they’ve got to quit walking the ball up the floor off of rebounds and steals. Otherwise they’re consistently vulnerable to an inferior team having a hot night and getting themselves into a hole or being in a tight game that they don’t belong being in and come out on the wrong side again come tourney time. I looked it up last year on hoop-math and a lot of the hilarious upsets all had the same theme of the team walking it up too much or the other team not allowing any shots off of rebounds 0-10 seconds or at least holding the opponent to a low efg% if so.

Doke out for the year for KU...siiiiiiiggghhhh

Spread for UK A&M was anywhere between 12.5 and 15. UK up by 14 tries to dribble out the clock but there was a difference between shot clock and game clock. They put .8 back on the clock and A&M hits a half court shot. Tough beat if you had 12.5

Fun stuff as usual with NCST!

Wake Forest is a total train wreck btw. Manning did good at Tulsa but I dunno who/if anybody will ever get Wake back to the Randolph Childress-Chris Paul days. That’s sad. I grew up watching Wake be a player.

Is a rivalry a rivalry when one of the teams wins 29 of 33 games?

My years at UNC were spent when Wake was a force. Tobacco Road is so much better when Wake has a real team.

Odds of Wake becoming a force seem slim for a number of reasons.

1) Duke/UNC are overly dominant especially in the region--I wasn't as big of a fan but seems like it's hard for 3 or 4 programs in the triangle to be good at the same time--how did Wake get CP3/Duncan and a few other NBA players like Childress? I guess they need a real top tier coach which is tough to get at Wake
2) ACC is stacked with a ton of good teams on top of Duke/UNC including UVA; NCST, FSU and upstart VT look good lately as well as Cuse/Lville who have been historically good; Miami/ND have typically been good as well the last 5-10 years under the current coaches. Even if Wake improves immensely, they'd likely be stuck in the middle since they've been so bad for so long.
3) Wake has been poor in a bunch of sports including football

State/UNC is always a rivalry due to all the other sports/teams we hate them in. Men's Basketball has definitely favored UNC lately though.

It's NCSU and that loss was a lot different than in years past. We lost that game in the first 5 minutes and then we settled in but could never get our head above water. Keatts is the right guy and it's nice to see a coach hold players responsible for their effort. Accountability was sorely lacking under a guy like Gottfried and players have even alluded to it in interviews. Team could have mailed it in so many times last night and didn't. This isn't a NC State program of years past, no way no how.

That was a battle between top half ACC teams last night. Sloppy at times but very entertaining. Question LIGA is it a rival when UNC's football program is an absolute joke and we push yalls **** in year after year? You know it's a rivalry so cut the crap.

Seems like the UNC/NCSU football isn't as off as UNC/NCSU basketball. 3/3 split the last 6, obviously before that NCSU won 5 in a row before that UNC won 3 in a row. 6UNC/8 the last 14 years. 66-36-6 all time favoring UNC. There were a few runs before that.

UNC cfb barely registers on my radar. it's all about the roundball for me.

is Keats different? meh. time will tell.

All I want to know, when is 9 year senior Luke Maye going to graduate? He's like our Kenny Inge of years ago.

No way, Virginia's defense is way too good. I could never see them losing to a vastly inferior team, especially not in an embarrassing fashion.

I love that kid he's been a big surprise. Great find. His issue is foul trouble, goes for every block and rebound and finds his ass on the bench quick as a result. Hones that in and yea he's a game changer on either end.

Down goes Houston!

And then there were ... 2?

Haha too bad for UVA that this is a troll post.

Awesome ending to regulation in Marquette/Creighton. I have Marquette +3.5, now I gotta sweat OT. And Markus Howard is freaking awesome to watch. Like 3 inches shorter Stephen Curry. This kid is gonna shoot them to a S16. 50 points. Every shot is a step back 3 in the defenders face or a blow by

yeah we have the same issue with our primary bigs Garrison Brooks (6.1 FC/40) and Sterling Manley -- who was hurt last night -- (6.3).

as you can see, Walker has the same issue. this is really hurting NCSU with defensive FTA/FGA.

01-09-2019 , 10:28 PM
Turned the Creighton game off after they went up 5 with 7 seconds left. Big mistake.
