Trae Young - 26 points on 7 shot attempts. 9 assists 5 turnovers.

Trae Youngs Teammates - 59 points on 46 shot attempts. 5 assists 11 turnovers.

The media narrative that he shoots too much is so incredibly dumb. Hes playing on a team that went 11-20 and had the 118th offense last season.

Virginia has been kind of an interesting case in the tourney. In this run of fantastic seasons, they've usually had a key player injured/sick in the tournament. Gill one year, Wilkins last year, Justin Anderson another year (though he played - he just wasn't the same). Since they didn't have much margin for error, those injuries really sunk them.

That, and they've gotten stuck with underseeded MSU.

Two seasons ago was the year. POY Brogdon, Gill, Perrantes, Tobey, plus young Hall, Shayok, and Wilkins. Just had those sloppy few minutes against Cuse with Malachi going unconscious.

As much as I'd like to see them go to the Final Four or win the whole thing, I don't get all up in arms about it, as being able to win 4-6 games in a row, most against really good teams, is extremely difficult. I enjoy the season as a whole.

The Final Four would be sweet, though.

Didn't he take like 40 shots against OSU? 2OT, but still...

He played well tonight. I thought early in the game KU had him in check but it allowed other people to get open a lot.

Bill Self should be crucified for leaving Azubuike in the game when they started fouling him. Just completely inexcusable.

Even that game, he was 8/16 from 3 in regulation. Oklahoma was up 3 with 10 seconds left, didnt foul, Ok state tied it and came back for the win in OT.

He defi itely should not be shooting it only 9 times.

uva has had like 5 good teams, and as you explained a lot of times an injury shot us in the foot right before the tourney. i think the expectations put on uva to have done better in the tourney are a bit ridiculous and ignore variance a bit, like not winning the tourney after 5 tries means we're broken. blue bloods with arguably better teams year in year out than we've ever had bust before the final four all the time.

i AM starting to reach a point where i mostly care about getting a natty, though. of course, i just like winning games. if UVA kept repeating the last 5 years on loop, that's fine by me. but i don't care nearly as much about ranking, acc record, beating unc or duke, etc, as i did a few years ago. i mostly just want things to happen so we end up with as good a shot at winning it all as possible.

Just unreal how much Duke crushes on the recruiting trail. Not even fair to the rest of the nation at this point.

The best team in the country and lock to win it all this year plays Michigan on their home floor in roughly an hour.
