1st team AA seem pretty set in stone at this point

Trigga Trae (Wooden Award winner)
Jalen Brunson
Keita Bates Diop
Marvin Bagley
Deandre Ayton

Seems pretty clear 11st team provided Bagley returns and nobody is hurt anytime soon.

Trae probably wont be face guarded at half court off the ball in the NBA. Just a hunch.
They are only going to win something like 6-7 more games than last year with the entire team back and adding Manek who has been decent as well. At best Trae has been like 3-4 wins above replacement and people are talking about him like he is the next Curry.

Curry took Davidson to the E8. Trae is taking a team with a lot more talent than that to somewhere around a .200 winning percentage the last few months of the season. I am not saying he isn't a good player he obviously is but whether or not he will be a good NBA player I think is really debateable given the actual historical effectiveness of players with similar builds/attributes at the NBA level.

Let’s not forget curry also played in a small conference and he was in college for 3 years although he made the elite 8 his sophomore year Curry was great and Davidson ran great while he was there but won 20 and 23 games the two seasons before curry joined where they averaged 28 or so wins while he was there. Big 12 is stacked this year and obviously teams figured out how to not only stop but destroy ou. With that being said, trae is still averaging some crazy stats with pretty insane efficiency for a freshman pg who is probably being double and triple teamed at times from half court.

comparing one player's best tournament run to another player's win % over two months is certainly a thing you could do

curry didn't even make the tournament his junior year

I am comparing him to Steph because that is what the media/people in this thread have done. A better argument against Trae is that his sample size of actual elite level play is extremely small and possibly an outlier rather than predictive of future success. That plus being short and having a slight build means I think it is more likely than not he won't be a huge NBA success. Again he is obviously a very good player especially in college I just don't think he is the slam dunk NBA superstar that people are making him out to be.

He has a 900 minute sample of being ~junior year Curry.

Not sure if that’s large enough, but I also think he will shoot much better over the next month then he did in the last one.

Curry is an outlier on so many levels. I wouldn’t want to put my franchise on the trae train but I wouldn’t have done the same thing with curry 9 years ago.

Curry was the seventh pick, trae will probably be at a similar spot. With that being said, thabeet, Rubio, Evans and Johnny Flynn were taken ahead of him. Harden and Blake were also taken higher but obviously were good picks. Rubio wasn’t bad either but no where near as good as curry. I thought curry would be great based on his amazing performances but I didn’t think he’d be anywhere near as good as he is now.

He just seems to be a bit of a mental midget to me. Happy to be wrong, and its not like I have any sort of ability to predict this stuff. Just talking out of my ass like everyone else

I don't know if I see him as a starter, but might make the roster somewhere as a serviceable backup PG

Like he may get drafted but I doubt he's an impact player. He's likely a G-league player early on.

How in the hell is Oklahoma still ranked with 6 going on 7 straight losses? And still projected with a pretty high seed?

They have the #1 greatest hoops star of all time. Who cares that they have won 1 game out of the last 9. They have a real chance to have the worst record all time for an at large team (current record 18-14, if they only beat iowa st the rest of the way they go 17-14)and still be a single digit seed based on the way they only lose about 1 seed line per two losses.

Yea but it feels like without the Trae hype they would be a bubble team right now.
