Let’s start with who’s definitely out of the playoffs. The field is getting thinner.

Texas aTm is now out with 3 losses.
Oregon lost last night and now has 3 losses.
Iowa is hanging by a thread at 6-2.
Florida, although 6-2 can’t even win their own division now so they are basically out.
USF got their **** kicked in by Houston is now 7-1. Being that they are G5 their chances are now exactly 0%.
Washington lost to cal. LOL. Out. lol pac 12
Texas lost and is now 6-2. Hanging on by a thread.
Kentucky is still alive! If they win out they are in. Woooo go chuckles

LOL RANKINGS

121. Tcu (lost to Kansas! LOL!)
122. Fsu
123. UCLA
124. Louisville (even a ****ty FSU team beat them)
999. Rutgers

lol so what happens if wsu wins out? I guess they get in over ucf but not a one loss big10 or big12 school.

what about a 1 loss nd or clem?

I think ucf needs everyone to have 2 losses to make it.

Eh, everyone that's not Alabama -- okay, let's say outside the top 7 or 8 -- is so mediocre this year. Kentucky seems to have a pretty legit defense and a good RB. They'll probably get hammered and eliminated at some point, but until then they're "top 10".

If Kentucky had a legit good QB, like say a dual threat guy with starting and playoff experience, like someone looking to transfer right now, named Kelly Bryant, then they'd be a legit threat instead of a team that's "taken advantage of some breaks" to be here.

Notre Dame struggled to beat Pitt. At least Kentucky hasn't been shellacked by Purdue and puts up those defensive numbers in the SEC.

Sagarin doesn't have much love for LSU..

He has Penn State (6-2) ahead of them, while LSU has 6th toughest SOS and 4 wins against top 30 teams.. Also, ND not even in top 10..

Kentucky unit rankings per S&P+

Off: 109
Def: 3
ST: 77

that combination does not a top 10 team make

Tail end of the rankings turning into charity for the non-traditional powers, which I guess is cool since it doesn't really harm anything. In reality are App St, UVA, or Cuse even top 40?

I find this post confusing. Why are you going with a Notre Dame anecdote? Why the tOSU comparison? And why would we be noting Kentucky puts up those defensive numbers against the generally meh SEC offenses?

I'm fine with having Kentucky where they are based on accomplishments, but they're not going to be in the conversation *next week* because teams have adapted to stopping their run game and their qb is just OK. Mizzu held them to 15 points and their running backs had 78 yards on 24 carries--the numbers are worse if you include the qb rushes, but some of those could be sacks. EVERYBODY gets 5 touchdowns against Mizzu. It's only going to get worse.

Put Kelly Bryant back there (please?) and they're more than just a ticking timebomb, is all I'm saying.

On YPP LSU is even worse.

LSU is a 5-3 or 4-4 team masquerading as a 7-1 team (albeit against reasonably good competition)
