Ran pretty bad this year. Gave up a 4 point play with 3.5 seconds left up 4 and lost in OT. That and NC State were two of the sickest losses I've seen.

And if that happened to any other [older] coach's team there'd have been a zillion "Lol dumb coach" posts.

Is Dook preseason #1? They somehow have like 12 guys in the top 10 class this year.

well, JABARI hasn't announced that he will stay yet and MYLES TURNER is still waiting to commit to Duke, but we will be in due course.

shaka's success comes from the full court press for an entire game being an absolute cluster**** for 99% of college basketball teams. when he's up against legit backcourts (michigan last year) he gets his ass handed to him.

I'd rate it pretty high considering Matt Jones already plays and Semi will surely only transfer to somewhere that he can play once he realizes he won't at Duke.

This is true. Shaka isn't a great coach, but he is great for VCU in that he employs a style that makes sense for a typically less talented roster, and he's also somewhat famous in NCAA basketball.

VCU has the #14 recruiting class in 2014. I imagine some of those recruits will change their minds with Shaka departing, and I bet the VCU program will fall off within a few years.

Shaka leaving was a Marquette student hoax that the media jumped on as a real source. Several news outlets even showed up for a press conference to announce the hiring that didn't exist. Supposedly Marq and Shaka haven't even talked.

Not even sure why UCLA offered Shaka a job. Really don't think many 5 star recruits would want to play in a system where they have to do crazy cardio everyday, full court press everygame, and play in a stagnant offense. His gameplan needs guys like Weber, Reddic, Skeen , Can you imagine Kyle Anderson playing or even sticking around if they ran Shaka's style? Their current team seems like the nut low for Havoc (maybe the Wear twins would like it). Alford was a great choice I think with his ability to run a nice offense where future NBA players should thrive.

Just out of curiosity where did you get your information on Patterson leaving Syracuse. I have heard no such rumors and it makes 0 sense. He would be a 23 year old sophomore basically.

Semi is transferring before the summer no doubt. Matt Jones should get some burn next year.

Duke and UNC both likely preseason top 5, if not top 2, should make for a fun offseason thread.

small forward (and power forward really), is gonna get short real quick if semi transfers and jabroni and hood don't stay. semi should get minutes next year unless he just sucks a fat one.
