Agree. Definitely feels late with the NCAA starting a week later. Some conferences have already crowned a champ by 3/4 in the past.

Lots of awesome Conference Tournaments upcoming.

Interested to see if the teams that have a 1 seed locked up (specifically Purdue and UConn) put in their full effort or if they're content mailing it in and regrouping for the real tournament.

Gonzaga apparently a bubble team and may need some wins. I'd have them locked. Wouldn't want to play them or Michigan State round 2 really.

Houston lost a key piece in Tugler. Huge off the bench for their defense.

there is zero chance they don't get in unless they somehow get blown out by whatever minnow team they will play in the WCC semis.

Looks like st johns is the bubbliest bubble team, I assumed they were drawing dead a couple weeks ago when I looked them up, would be more fun for them to be in

and we are drawing live for kentucky st johns round 1

Gonzaga isn't remotely a bubble team. They were last week but then they blew out two good teams on the road. I still think their streak of eight straight sweet 16s will end because I don't trust their guards' ability to score vs. good teams. But they're a far better team than they were a couple months ago. Great coaching job by Few.

Yeah didn't realize a win over st Mary's and another ok win would take them from last team in to like a 7 seed for some reason.

When you get to the bubble, very few of those teams have true road wins over other tournament teams.

Considering that they have like a Quad 8 loss, they should be drawing dead.

Purdue makes it back to back outright B1G titles by winning at Illinois.

tonight...beating depaul on the road is kinda meaningless but running up the score isn't plus having pitino sr as your HC helps on any borderline decisions (imho).

what also helps st. johns is wake forest losing as a 13.5 fav on the same night.

also want to throw out a LOL to Akron losing outright as a 22 pt. fav. Good thing for them is that the only MAC team making the tourney is their conference winner so they're not drawing dead yet.

UNLV improves to 3-22 in their last 25 vs. San Diego St. tonight!

they are also now 10-1 in their last 11 games.

Is it too much to hope for a bump up to first 4 in by week's end?

ACC tiebreaker for the regular season title (not that it matters):
if UNC beats Duke, they win
If Duke beats UNC, it goes to a tiebreak

Tiebreak:
UNC lost to Syracuse and Clemson
Duke lost to Wake and Pitt
Both lost to GT

If Clemson wins @ Wake, Duke wins the tiebreak

If Wake beats Clemson and Pitt beats NC State, UNC wins the tiebreak
If Wake beats Clemson, and NC State beats Pitt, then Clemson, Cuse, Wake and Pitt finish in a 4 way tie for 4th, and it goes to a literal coin toss

I believe the only coin toss scenario involves Ga Tech being by themselves in the standings. If BC or ND tie Ga Tech in the standings then that favors Duke due to winning % against that group of teams.

MWC:

Utah State is 12-4 with SJSU and NM remaining
Nevada 12-5 with UNLV
Boise 12-5 with @ SDSU
UNLV 12-5 with @ Nevada

Nevada beat Utah State
Nevada 1-1 Boise
Nevada 1-0 UNLV with 1 pending
Utah State 2-0 Boise
Utah State beat UNLV (but doesnt matter since loser of the next game will have 6 losses)
UNLV beat Boise

Boise loses h2h against USU, Nevada and UNLV, so they would also lose all multi ways, so they're out
UNLV loses h2h to USU, so I think they can only win if USU loses 2
Nevada wins h2h vs USU

So I think it's:
USU wins out they win
USU loses 1 and Nevada > UNLV, Nevada wins
USU loses 1 and UNLV > Nevada, USU wins
USU loses 2, then UNLV/Nevada winner wins

(The only one I'm not positive about is USU loses 1, Nevada > UNLV and Boise > SDSU
USU, Nevada and Boise would finish in a 3way tie for first
USU would be 2-1 vs the opponents, Nevada would be 2-1, and Boise would be 1-2
I believe what then happens is Boise gets eliminated, and then it goes h2h USU/Nevada, and Nevada wins)

Great catch, thank you!

It's fun to have a ton of money riding on who finishes 12th in the ACC lol

Oh, it matters. At least around here. At least we’ve clinched a share, regardless. But yeah, as far as who is 1 and who is 2 for the ACCT seeding doesn’t really matter.

Granted, if we win Saturday, we are basically guaranteed the Charlotte pod for the first two rounds.

Thanks for posting this. I knew we were behind on tiebreak scenarios, as the standings are today. Coin toss would be wild.

Dook has been playing very well lately. I’m nervous about Saturday.

Indiana, a day after they announced Mike Woodson would be retained for next season, loses their only 2024 recruit. Insiders reporting basically everyone on the roster is hitting the portal after the season. Such a lovely mess.

What's crazy is Indiana had the coach that should have brought them back in Kelvin Sampson. But a few impermissible phone calls later and Indiana's future completely changed.
