Finally back after ending an 8 game losing streak to your top rival?

You going to be a basketball school again when you lose on Saturday?

Anyone see the beyond pathetic ASU WSU game the other night?

Teams were a combined 2 of 13 from free throw line at half of an 18-10 game

That’s a long time ago:

3 of 14 layups sounds fake

indeed. quite the surprise they've never summited the mountaintop before this coming Monday.

this now leaves 31 major cbb programs (ACC, B12, B1G, BE, SEC, P12) who have never been an AP #1 (AP started their rankings in '48/'49).

here's a list of some major programs yet to do it: Maryland, Oregon, LSU, Utah, Butler, FSU, Minn, and Xavier.

First game I’ve seen of Purdue. They almost blew it bc they clearly had no plan on how to break the 1/2-3/4 court press from Iowa. They just kept having this point guard dribble up with no help at all in the backcourt and then throw it up for grabs to someone across the half court line. Obviously that didn’t work and led to turnover after turnover. Terrible coaching job and almost cost them the game.

Other than that, Purdue looked pretty good but they don’t seem to have a star player who can take people off the dribble and create. Their point guard didn’t seem very good. So that could hurt them in close games against good teams come tourney time. But that’s the only game I’ve seen so I could be wrong.

I can still remember when RAIDS used to give me such a hard time throughout the years in these cbb threads for saying how much Hurley sucks.

Ivey can def take people off the dribble and create. Yeah Hunter is def the weak link, would think his minutes will lessen and lessen. I think Thompson is banged up and they could use him taking up some of Hunter's minutes.
I would like Ivey on the ball more and Newman taking some of Hunter's minutes as well. Unless Hunter is a defensive savant, I'm not sure why he plays as much as he does.

Saw that Purdue #1 for first time ever. Of course, rankings in December aren't what teams care about, but that's still an achievement. Congrats, NotRedd & other Boiler fans!

Maryland definitely the craziest one. You would think a team that was a #1 seed, and won the tourney would of had a #1 ranking at some point...alas they don't do a postseason ranking

also, lol Florida

they even gave #1 duke it's second loss of the season on a Sunday of that year to move to 21-3 but didn't move to #1 the next day.

Yeah they are pretty good too. I've seen Arizona a couple of times now and they are so impressive. Illinois hit 16 3s at home and still couldn't beat them.
