Going for a new tripping record

what you fail to understand is that Grayson trips opponents because it is optimal. Other players do this too also because it is optimal.

Interesting decision if next year's draft is as stacked as some of you say it is. Not sure how he can improve his stock other than to stop tripping people.

He's got two more titles in him before leaving so its the 2018 draft people should be looking at. Also, he said he talked to his parents and they encouraged him to stay and getting a degree from Duke is a lifelong dream. I have to think he is actually willing to stay 4 years if he isn't even going to test the waters this year when there is no drawback to doing so.

Ohio is a terrible place to live and the people are horrible.

yesssssssss

dookies gonna be stacked next year, inside and out.

I'm starting to think that one of Jefferson/Tatum/Giles might not start, which is kind of sick. Jefferson is a 5th year senior and an hyper-efficient-glue-everything guy, and the other two are probably top 10 draft picks. But K tends to start 3 guards these days, and he'll have plenty of good ones.

Ga Tech going to take Pastner off of Memphis' hands?

Strange how Atlanta seems like it should be a recruiting hotbed and there are no decent basketball schools either in Georgia or any of the bordering states, unless I'm forgetting some team. Did any team from Georgia/Alabama/S Carolina/Tennessee or Florida get an at-large bid other than Miami and Vandy? I guess that's just another way of saying the SEC sucks at hoops. You can throw MS and LA in there too.

just three more years until they stop paying hewitt and can afford a real coach

If you can pair Pastner with a great bench coach he'd have a shot. Pastner seemed to be able to recruit but can't coach a lick and I think recruits are finally wising up and avoiding the Tigers.

sounds familiar but is at least better than not being able to recruit nor coach

I saw this pointed out somewhere, but Georgia Tech has been above .500 in the ACC one time in the last 20 years. They went 9-7 the year they went to the championship game. That is impressive to be that mediocre for that long

Problem in ACC is what coach really wants to be likely 7-8th best coach in a tough BBall conference. Obviously Roy/K/Pitino/Boeheim aren't going to be around forever but Bennett/Brey/Larranaga/Hamilton are no slouches....I also like Buzzzzzz. Gottfried isn't totally awful although I think players are quickly losing trust.

I thought you unc bros were talking about how bad a coach Roy was as recently as ~10:30 monday night when Brice Johnson was chilling on the bench?

Unless one of 6 coaches steps through the doors, I think Roy is great. He isn't perfect and he got owned in the 2nd half against Nova but he's still done a tremendous job in a very tough conference.

Stevens-age and everything else....
K-he isn't coming over any time soon and old.
Izzo-same with Izzo--Roy owns Izzo too
Bennett--age is great, don't love style but would have better players than at UVA.
Cal-I want nothing to do with him but obviously can recruit.
Wright--I wouldn't complain.

Not sure who will end up with...probably Hubert who I'm not that thrilled about due to lack of HC experience at this point.

Anyone else see this story that Pat Summit's kid got a head coaching gig at age 23 and then proceeded to allegedly knock up one of his players (oh, and he's married too). That is some shameless nepotism right there, shocking that putting a 23 year old in charge of a bunch of college girls ended badly. Also, he looks like a goober.

Yeah that whole story blows my mind. How could anyone think hiring a 23 year old bro to coach 20 year old women would be a good idea? Also, I saw on twitter he was rumored to be hooking up at Marquette as well

Being in Memphis and a GT grad, I'm not thrilled with Pastner. The whole fan base wanted him gone. It seems he can't coach. He doesn't seem to communicate well - he said recently that Memphis fans didn't support the team like at his other schools (AZ?). (The coliseum is downtown, so obv harder for students to get to)

I was looking forward to Memphis bball sucking next year, and this happens?

What could be attractive about a UofM reject?

well he can obviously recruit. I dont know how the buyout is going to be structured, but after the better options like capel were off the board you still have to hire someone. hes at least young

memphis prob going to realize soon that they are nothing without calipari and he actually did a reasonable job there

Exactly. In no way shape or form should someone at that age be in charge of a collegiate program. Based on male maturity rate they basically gave the keys to an 18 year old lmao.

ESPN with some deep insight into the GT situation:

"Athletic director Mike Bobinski said the team's failure to make the NCAA tournament factored into his decision to dismiss Gregory."
