Really gonna come down to Seeding. Get 8 or 9 seed and run into a 1 seed first weekend is not good

Yah, it's pretty remarkable how badly the 8/9 teams get screwed over. In terms of reaching the Sweet 16, being a 13 is only slightly worse than 8/9 and being a 12 is a lot better.

UVA o efficiency still in free fall. dropped from 18 to 30 after tonight. of course losing our point guard during the game didn't help. but still hate seeing the offense fall apart like this as we're heading into march. of course i'd like to imagine we can just plug anderson back in and get back to being good again. so i'll just pretend that's whats going to happen until i see otherwise.

Defense has held tough, offense will pick up if the team gets back to full strength. Maybe not to top-five levels, but good enough to be a threat in March.

Miles locks team out of gym and locker room
Can someone lock him into somewhere where he must watch offense 24/7

that's really all i'm looking for. a month ago i felt like UVA was a legit title contender, we were just clicking. even in our loss to duke, we just seemed so put together and like we probably get that game a lot of the time. i'll just be pretty disappointed if we get to the sweet 16 and fizzle again this year, because we were much better than that a month ago.

Agree completely. For a while seemed like UVA was a legit Final 4/Nat'l Champ contender - remember when they even took a couple of 1st place votes from UK for a couple of weeks? They're still a great, likable team, but it seems like the ceiling has come down a bit the last couple weeks, more than just losing Anderson. I'm a hoo fan too and hoping the offense clicks in time for the ACCT - hope JA can be back for it too.

If Justin Anderson comes back 100% Virginia is up there with any one. But at the moment, yeah...I'm selling

FSU's defense has been very good the past couple weeks and they're very long/athletic so tonight without Anderson is nothing to be too ashamed about. I'm just pissed that I didn't pull the trigger on FSU + a ridic. amount of points and the under parlay. I was so close and game went pretty much how it would an awful lot if you run it over and over.

It's kinda odd, but I think the Brogdon/Perrantes thing actually helped Virginia. They scored on about 4 consecutive possessions right after and the defense was lights out from that point on (quite literally as FSU did not score a FG). They seemed to pick it up 2 notches.

FSU's defense was definitely quite stout. They did a really good job bothering the guards on the perimeter. It was a really physical game last night.

Virginia's offensive struggles recently basically boil down to outside shooting. They just can't hit a jumper (they made ONE last night). They have guys other than Anderson who can - Brogdon, Perrantes, and Shayok are more than capable of making threes - they just haven't done it recently. Anderson's return (cross my broken fingers that he will return and be effective) will obviously improve things simply because of his shooting ability, but he should help the other guys, too. Spacing will be a lot better, other guys will get better looks in rhythm, the lane will open up more, etc.

It's not even like the offense has been run poorly. Overall, it has looked fine. They just can't hit outside shots right now for some reason. Nolte has been bringing down the shooting percentage like a billionteen percent by himself.

Pretty impressive, though, that the defense continues to roll.

the B1G is only getting one team to the second weekend of the ncaa tournament so why does it matter who is 2nd best or 8th best?

I would imagine that if you offered that as a bet you would get a bunch of takers.

I think they at most had two votes, and one of those was John Feinstein, who has uncontrollable biases in favor of teams he thinks play the "right" way.

It's possible UVA with Anderson could be the 2nd best team by a substantial margin while still not being on the level of Kentucky . They look too good this year
