Brad did well, again. Brought in a real NBA player, not a great one, or even a good one...but a legit guy.

Quote:
The 6’9” Hernangomez theoretically fills a need for the Celtics as a stretch-4. He had a very difficult year in Minnesota, showing up to camp in less than ideal condition and then missing time due to COVID. He went from a 42% 3-point shooter in 14 post-trade games (all as a starter) with the Timberwolves to a 32.7% 3-point shooter in 52 games last season (only six as a starter).

His shooting seems to ebb and flow depending on his role. In 57 career games as a starter, Hernangomez is 101-146 from deep (39.3%). In 200 career games as a reserve, he’s 124-384 (32.3%).
And gave up 2 guys that had no future with the C's. Dunn is what he is. Edwards can be a scorer in the NBA one day, maybe. IT2 type, poor mans curry...the problem is, he needs the keys to the team. And he ain't those guys. I am glad he is gone, but he can light it up, so good luck to him.

Just his size?
It's hard for little guys to do it. In playoff series it's easier to take them out of the game.

Steph (who is better obviously - and taller) still needed the right people around him.

I think Anthony Davis will go back to averaging a minimum of 28ppg next season due to the Westbrook PNR (which should be pretty damn effective iyam) and all the LOBS he'll be getting from both Brodie and Playoff Rondo. FFS Schroeder tossed ONE freaking lob to him all last season meanwhile Westbrook was making Gafford and one Brook Lopez look GOOD.

There should never be a time without one of LeBron/Westbrook/Rondo on the court to set him up nicely.

Detroit plans to work on a buyout with Jordan on the $20 million remaining over the final two seasons of his deal.

DeAndre Jordan To Sign One-Year, $2.6M Deal With Lakers

SEP 3, 2021 7:21 PM

DeAndre Jordan intends to sign a one-year, $2.6 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers once he clears waivers.

The Detroit Pistons will buyout Jordan with him giving back $4 million of the $20 million remaining on his contract.

Jordan signed a four-year, $40 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2019 offseason.

Odds DeAndre sabotages the Lakers from the inside as a mole for Durant/Kyrie?

Think this is a good trade for the Nets, especially since they created a 6-7m trade exception.

Bad signing for Lakers if they do take him imo.

i was getting kinda bullish the lakers offseason as they added Monk, Ariza, Ellington, but now that they're working in Rondo, Melo, and DAJ (along with Russ obv) the chances of toxicity are very high. good luck to Vogel

Tatum wants to be elite.

Boston's better today then they were at the end of the season. Stevens is replacing G-League flotsam & jetsam with actual NBA players - none of whom are great, but at least Udoka can look down the bench & think that he has NBA talent to work with.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the fact that this is the NBA's dead period between free agency and training camp where Baseball is in full swing (pun intended) and NFL is about to kickstart (also pun intended).

he's young, apparently getting stronger, we'll have to see if it helps his game. He had covid last year and it lingered. Still he had some monster games. Had some bad games too often in the same week.
