Yeah I read some Knicks article how they should've taken him at #19 overall instead of trading it for some kick down the road Charlotte pick.

Nets got the absolute steal of the draft.

NY Knicks: Team acquired draft picks along with Evan Fournier

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, the Knicks will receive a pair of future 2nd round picks from Boston and will send them cash considerations as a part of the Evan Fournier deal.

While two future 2nd round picks may not seem like a huge coup, the fact that the team was able to gain a few extra picks in the future comes as a welcome surprise for a player who we all thought the team simply signed as an unrestricted free agent.

Boston will receive a 17 million dollar trade exception which is important for them should they go out and attempt a big trade later on this season.

For the NY Knicks, this is what appears to be a recurring trend for this front office — shrewd maneuvering of draft capital and cap space while continuing to develop and grow a winning culture.

Probably a self-challenge - can I get a max deal while only playing 3 years out of 4 and never learning to shoot?

Despite all reports suggesting that Ben Simmons wants to leave the Philadelphia 76ers, the team has refused to budge when it comes to price. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported that the 76ers want a James Harden-esque package of draft picks and players in return for Simmons, and thus far, no team has proven willing to meet that price. With the bulk of the transactional period of the offseason now concluded, Philadelphia is going to have a much harder time finding a suitor.

One party that is still interested? The Minnesota Timberwolves. According to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski, the Timberwolves have continued discussions with Philadelphia on a possible Simmons deal, but might need a third team to create the sort of win-now package that Philadelphia is looking for.

If Philadelphia wants a Harden-esque return of draft picks, Minnesota could theoretically accommodate them. The Timberwolves still control all of their own first-round picks, so a deal involving several and some possible swaps would be on the table. The problem for the Timberwolves is that Philadelphia still wants to win with Joel Embiid rather than take a step back as the Houston Rockets did in their Harden trade. That would likely mean, at a bare minimum, that veteran starters D'Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley would have to be involved in a deal as well.

Russell is the traditional pick-and-roll point guard that Philadelphia has lacked during the Simmons era, but as a close friend of Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, it is unclear if Minnesota would be willing to deal him. Beasley is similarly fraught, but for different reasons. He just completed a 78-day prison sentence after pleading guilty to threatening a family with a rifle. Krawczynski also notes that the recently-acquired Patrick Beverley who has already been involved in two trades this offseason, could factor into the equation here. He would be a fit on a win-now 76ers team, or he could head to a possible third team in the deal.

Finding the sort of win-now pieces Philadelphia would want is going to be complicated for Minnesota. The only two superstars that are seemingly on the market right now are Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard, and if their teams were ready to trade them, Philadelphia would likely be offering Simmons already. Perhaps a deal involving several lesser veterans and picks could work, but for now, even if Minnesota is the prime Simmons suitor, it appears as though a deal still isn't close.

Boston extends Rob Williams 4/54.

The over/under for blocks per game during the extension should be 2.0; for games played over the same time period - 201.

Boston extended Josh Richardson, now sign through 2022-23 at approx. 2/24.

Stevens seems to stockpiling tradeable contracts - Smart, RWilliams, Richardson.

Time will tell how that works out.

That was in some social media but never made it into the Boston market mainstream. Schroder signed for the baby mid-level (1/5.9); no sign & trade discussions seemed to have occurred.

Why did Cam Thomas slide all the way to the Nets at #27?

Do NBA GMs and Scouts really suck that hard?

i like what Brad has done this offseason. Get rid of that gimpy midget Kemba. U cant count on him.

Look a healthy Rob, starting... playing big mins, that is a good team. And they locked him up. Finally he is confident, set for life...lets play some ball. Got a good deal on Schroder who has more than something to prove.

Smart, Josh Richardson, JB, JT, Rob...Dennis and Horford. That's defense baby. That's get out and run. Hey man it's 20:1 imo... but it could come together u never know. Neismith and Pritchard...Kanter. That is a full roster of guys that belong in the NBA.

Boston should be deep enough for Nesmith & Pritchard (if they're not packaged in an impact deal) to get minutes without thinking they need to intense impact the game as they hit the floor. The days of 5'10" guards is (hopefully) over. Rob Williams is a steal if he becomes a 24+ minute every night contributor; if not, his contract is small enough to move.

C's have 3 guys, smart, J. Rich, Dennis that have shot the 3 ball ok for seasons but are coming off not so great seasons. Locking Smart up with the contract, and giving J. Rich that extra year, they can relax, let it go.

Everybody has covid as an excuse but I think Dennis in LA and J. Rich in Dallas, that isnt the greatest situation. I expect them to fit in and be good. Basically we are talking about guys that can and have shot 38% but can and have shot 32% all in the last few years. Make or miss, you want to figure out a way that they "make".

Regardless, these are some long defenders and double figure scorers. PP and Nesmith are potential 40% plus from 3. And some chance the Jay's improve...some chance they keep on expanding their games beyond all-star level. Timelord played like 80% of the games for 19 mins or w/e. I expect him to start from day one and I dont think the C's sign him for 4 years if he has something their doctors are alarmed about. I would put the over under at 70 games and 27 mins so long as the season goes down normally (covid)

Smart/Richardson/Tatum/Brown/Horford is a solid lineup.
The rest of the team outside of Dennis is problematic.
Theyre solid at center at least with no Tristan Thompson minutes

Timelord? He is as healthy as brow, kyrie, lebron, harden, kd, klay...so yeah they are all problematic due to health but odd you omit Rob who has the highest PER of all of them...

at the very least we can expect 1 out of every 8 minutes played (24 mins a game) to be manned by rob williams...the guy that guarded harden and kd and blocked everything. that guy.

Enis Kanter isnt problematic. He is what he is. Buckets and rebounds. He has been a good backup center and good teammate since his rookie year.

every promising second year player like PP and Nesmith is potentially problematic unless they are zion or something dominant. These guys are shooters. They shot it well and defended well their rookie year and they made strides this summer.

So the six you named...and two 34 PER stat stuffer guys when 15 is average in Rob and Kanter...(Rob is more than a stat stuffer, just saying)...that makes 8 solid NBAers and 2 young guys.

The C's doctors know Robs situation better than anyone, they gave him 4 years 50 plus million.
