Jokic a fraud. He's a great player and I want him on my team but he's no mvp
Why does this seem clear to you? Luka's supporting cast this year was bad, but Jokic's was awful. Both guys seem like fine teammates, but I have to believe that it is intrinsically easier to recruit players to play alongside Jokic than it is to play alongside Luka.
Luka is just a better version of Harden, without the baggage. If your skill set is limited to hanging out on the perimeter and shooting 3s, then I guess you might prefer to play with Luka. But if you want a more active role in the offense, Jokic seems like the better choice.
The Mavs style with Luka may be able to accommodate one teammate who does something other than sit on the perimeter. That player was Brunson in the playoffs. But can it accommodate more than one? Not obvious to me.
