I know Iggy is old but how is he just completely incapable of shooting the ball? Like he could just step into a 15 footer a lot, he avoided a layup basically there. He was a good scorer, it makes no sense.

It's been at least a decade since Iggy was an effective scorer. He is shooting below 40% over his last 100 games in the NBA.

obviously for old guys any part of their game can atrophy over time......Iggy may still look like himself in spurts but your legs start going, it is going to affect your ability to get open shots up

Trust me I know all of that, but I'm not talking about getting open shots, they were literally giving him 10+ of cushion with no help around him. He could have dribbled up uncontested a couple of times to the free throw line and still been wide open. If he has 0 confidence is doing that I'm questioning Kerr's decision making in playing him at all. And whoever said he hasn't been an effective scorer for a decade is flat wrong. He may not have been able to get his own shot near as well but he could make open shots (clutch shots) and could score 20 on occasion. I'd be dumbfounded at this point if he scored 10 in a game.

edit: and to whoever said your shot could atrophy over time, maybe to a small degree sure but that is usually due to endurance and legs giving out after playing a bunch of minutes. I know 60 year olds who still shoot very well.

Every second old man Iggy plays is an example of terrible coaching. You have a future hall of famer (Kuminga) on the bench. I don't care if he's too young/not ready. Playing a near useless NBA senior citizen over that option is inexcusable.

How do guys like Kuminga get experience? You play them!

Between the Ben Simmons and Zion sagas its a real black mark on the league. Whether you want to blame the players (I think they are both the problem here) or not it just isn't a good look.
