Second best player on two titles. He basically pulled Kobe's career out of the tailspin and helped him come back to greatness. Narrative wise that it. I agree the stat argument is not great when compared to the other players in the rafters. But the narrative is impossible to question.

Pau had a higher statistical peak. Vlade is a really nice underrated player. But Pau was a beast and had better awards too. 6 all star games to 1. Rookie of the year. 5 all NBA teams to zero.

Plus Pau never shot 3s until the tail end of his career. Would have been interesting if he decided to put more effort into that as a younger player.

Pau was a 4 in the old game and a true 5 in today's.

Vlade is too slow to play today. Big advantage: Pau.

And are we really saying Pau is worse than Jamaal Wilkes? I don't know a ton about Wilkes but Pau looks okay next to him imo.

Pau is awesome and was underrated during his tenure with the Lakers (including by me).

He also had an 0-12 record in the playoffs before joining up with Kobe.
